Very easy to lock onto pins to get accurate distancing. I LOVE the distances to hazards (front and back) - that has changed the way I play! Only thing that is taking a little getting used to is the focusing of the eyepiece. It can be a little finicky with the position of your eye. If you are not looking dead center into the lens, image can be hazy.

I've owned it now for 2 years it's really great , the only frustrating thing is it won't stay connected to cell phone , this doesn't effect the range findings but it does the wind speed and direction

I've only had this device a little while but it does pretty much anything you want it to do when playing golf.

I bought this because of the wind speed and directions displayed on the viewfinder, however, it's not accurate, not by a long shot. It would show 5 miles per hour winds when the wind is actually 20+ miles per hour. Another problem is very difficult to get reading from inside 60 yards. Also it's top heavy, very difficult to to find pin! I have been using Range Finders for over 30 years, this is by far the worst!

So far it is great, other than I can't seem to get the green reading part to work. I have a premium membership, but I have played courses where the cart shows the green slopes and the Approach Z82 doesn't. Maybe I am missing a setting or something?

The Z30 rangefinder is the best rangefinder I have used. Accurate distances and the pin location feature is outstanding. When combined with a Garmin golf watch, it blows the competition away.

This is my second Range finder and I find this to be so much better. Having the course overlay integrated onto the screen with details on yards to hazards and bunkers is great and just adds so much to the usefulness of the device. I would highly recommend it !

I like the readout of yardages to hazards and green along the side. Also a nice readout of wind direction, when it's linked to your phone.

I bought the Approach Z82 last month. I've charged it, and set it up but haven't actually used it yet due to the weather where I live. I do like the graphics over what I had.

I purchased this in late December and have had a chance to use it 5 or 6 times. The unit is slow, a little blurry, and takes a minute to get it up and running on each use....but I love the features. We have more than a few blind shots on our course, so its imperative to know where the pin is on the green, The entire hole is displayed in the range finder with a semi circle of where the hole is on the green. For instance, I might have 110 yards to the pin but our greens are so firm that I need to know how much green I have to work with, With the Z82 I know the green is on the back so I need to hit a 100 yard shot to hold the green. I also know how much green I have on either side of the pin. It has many other features but what I have described is the missing information I need. I use an Apple Watch 9, the Z82, and a free version of Golfshot. I have all of the information I could ever need

I recently purchased this and it is hands down the best rangefinder I have ever used! The built in GPS and the info in display make this an awesome tool. Got it on sale at Golf Galaxy and couldn't be happier!

I absolutely love this device! It is a bit pricey... but the technology in this is amazing. The overlay is super clear and accurate. To have GPS built in is just really cool. Battery life is great. I do wish there was a way to clip the range finder itself to the cart... but the bag it comes with is nice and probably better to use that anyways to keep it protected. This makes my rounds more enjoyable and gets me to understand the course better, in real time.

I should've bought this earlier. Simply the best on the market. Pre-loaded with 41K courses. Distances to hazards as well as F, M & B of green and to the flag. Run and purchase this

my home course has a lot of hills an trees so my laser only finder would frequently provide the wrong distance. The GPS in the Z82 keeps the laser honest and when I don't have a target provides guidance. The Z82 laser is a little slow in acquiring the distance.

It's the exact tool that solves my problem. I play on the Veterans Golfers Association tour and 90% of the courses are courses I'm not familiar with. The Z82 gives me the insight I need to navigate the course. Every tee box someone will ask, "what do we do here?" I'll use the Z82 to give my fellow competitors the information. Where the fairway goes. How far to the hazard. If water is in play. If my golf just relied on "how far to the pin", that would be wonderful. Bit I need help from tee to green. He'll who am I kidding, I need help all the way to the hole. The course layout is vital to me, but another benefit the GPS gives is distance to front, center and back..with laser giving distance to pin. I don't have to rely on the pin locations for the day. Knowing how much room i have in front or behind the stick has allowed me to swing with more confidence with less dependency on the touchy feely stuff. I hit more greens vs coming up short like I used to. Now. the cons. it's not the clearest sight picture in the world and getting pin lock can take longer.. I got used to that. I tend to rely on front, center and back distances anyways. Another con is ya gotta charge it. It'll last, two rounds but during a stint where I have to play 3 or 4 rounds in a row I don't leave it to chance and charge it. Generally, the drive to the course is long enough to get it charged via USB. it does have slope and wind direction, which is awesome. Unfortunately I play in tournaments that require I have it in "Tournament Mode" so I don't get to take advantage of those features often. I give it 6 out of 5 stars for the information it provides. I subtracted stars for image quality, charging and not the fastest pin lock in the world. Eddie 4 index

I suffer from shaking hands. I had to quit using my Bushnells because of it. The Garmin is game saver. I love the hole preview on the side. I still have to get it set up for wind and the Garmin Golf app.

Great range finder, especially if you like a lot of data. Yardage, picture of fairway and key obstacles, plus green reading and wind direction. Cool stuff.

I've owned several brands of range finders, this one is far superior. Because of the GPS and laser features, the amount of detail you get with one zap is amazing. Yardages with front/back/middle combined with flyover view of the hole/green to see carry distances makes decisions happen so much faster and gives wind direction so I'm super confident I have what I need to draw a club. Your playing partners will ask how you are able to run through raw/slope/front/back/middle and cover distances so quickly without having to aim at multiple targets. Another cool feature is that the display keeps the data on the screen until you reshoot a target so if you want to run through the numbers again you just look in the viewfinder without having to go back and reshoot a target. Love this device.

All the features on this Garmin Z82 are incredible!! The size, the features are next level. One thing that really needs to be improved is the optics inside. Not high def and I won't say fuzzy but the engineers should definitely be working on improving this!

As a Looper & Golfer, of course, I've seen them all (lasers) & was actually very excited to have the Z82 for personal golf/golf trips, maybe even while "looping"... Hell no...! Pros: - Garmin Golf App links to Z82 (Personalized yardages to translate throughout on-course play) - Tech Savvy - Rechargeable (TBH I'd rather have batteries than to forget to charge) Cons: - Foresight is way TOO sensitive (Often times than not you MISS or "shoot" the perimeter or background of flagstick...) - The "ON/OFF" & "IDLE/SLEEP" process is very very very inconvenient & annoying (Having to wait even a few seconds for it to load up is a drag/other lasers its instant!) - Too much to think about while on-course.. Rather look through a yardage book than try to fiddle w/ "UP/DOWN" buttons to find hazards/bunkers/etc. - Yearly/Monthly Subscription required to get best or "full" experience through the Garmin Golf App (Personalized yardages to translate throughout on-course play)

I hated that there is no battery and I have to remember to charge it all the time. The features were ok, but can be a little busy when looking at targets. The Z82 is not for me.

Purchased my Z82 to pair up with my S70 and CT10 sensors. It might seem a bit much but getting the extra details from the Z82 helps with choosing the right club. It's not just the distance to the flag but how much room in front or back of the flag that lets me know if I have the right club in hand. Having a rechargeable battery is a definite plus! I'm in the habit of charging my speaker for my next round so I just add my Z82 to the lineup. Battery life has been exceptional and I definitely encourage you to consider this amazing range finder.
