It's mildly OK at best

I bought it because it's a hybrid meaning it has a real watch movement - hands and all, and a tiny screen to notify you and monitor basic health stuff like steps, BPM, etc. Other than a lockup I had which was quite a process to fix, I don't like that the battery % of charge does not show up on the app (big miss), and the display itself does require reading glasses to read. At least the icons are good and I can decipher the notifications, just not the details. I also HATE that it does not use Qi wireless charging. The cable they give you is proprietary, not even USB C. Such old tech for a cutting tech company like Garmin - or are they?

More than "just a watch"

I've been wearing my Vivomove Sport for a few weeks now so I think I can finally give an informed review. I like the simplicity of the watch the most, I am not a training athlete or someone who is working out hardcore so being able to pick what information I want shown and when I want it shown on the face is exactly what I was looking for. I really like being able to pair to the GPS on my phone so I have a visual of my route when biking, walking or running (I hike and kayak too but haven't tried the GPS while hiking yet so I can't account for the accuracy during those specific activities). The overall health features on the app are great too but warning if you're just starting out: the fitness age may be a bit discouraging at first. Now onto the things I do not like, first and foremost no matter what I do I can't get it to automatically start tracking an activity. I have MoveIQ and Activity Tracking turned on, but it does not automatically track. I have to manually go into the activity setting on the watch and start the selected activity (walking, running, biking, what have you) which is fine as long as I remember to turn it on. Coming from not having a fitness tracker to this, I do tend to forget to turn the activity on which is frustrating because that auto on feature was one of the reasons I chose a Garmin in the first place. Also on that note, I have had a few times when a bike ride has gone past the 1 hour mark and the activity is abruptly ended without notification so all of the travel/time/work out after that 1 hour mark isn't recorded, again really frustrating. The only other downside is the watch comes with a standard size band, if you've got a slightly larger wrist (mine is 7.8 inches) and you do not want a super tight band, you have to order another band SET for an additional cost, which I did but why pay additional money for the 1 longer band piece (3 band pieces come in a set)? To me, it would make more sense to include the 1 longer piece with the watch. All in all, I really do like the Vivimove sport and I think once I work out the issue with the auto tracking I will like it even more.

Average watch

The Garmin vivomove sport watch is a solid choice for those seeking a stylish and functional wearable device. The bands are comfortable to wear for extended periods, making it suitable for everyday use. The watch offers a decent set of features that cater to basic activity tracking and notifications. With a battery life of approximately 4 to 5 days, users can enjoy uninterrupted usage without frequent charging. However, a common concern arises with the delicate glass display, prompting many users to seek protective covers for added durability. Unfortunately, finding a suitable protective cover that fits the unique design of the watch can be challenging, which can be disappointing for those looking to safeguard their device from scratches and damage.

Attractive watch!

I bought the light green watch. It looks nice on. However, the information is white light and very hard to read, especially in bright conditions. Battery needs charged every 3 to 4 days. I personally don't find it user friendly. Have a hard time finding features on the app as well. But maybe that's just me!

More and Less Than I want

I have had this device for more than 3 years. I like the simple face. I use it mostly to watch steps. Time, date, and temperature are nice. The other measurements don't mean much to me (more than I want). I wish it would provide distance walked on the face; you have to go to the app on your phone for distance covered (less than I want). It seems to disconnect more as it ages. Just often enough to that I can't recall exactly what to do.

it has some useful features.

It is very hard to read your progression on the watch. It needs to be brighter. There should be an option in a lot of light to brighten the information.

Nice watch, but.....

I ordered this watch because I wanted a Garmin watch, but I didn't want all of the bells and whistles of the tactical watches they are known for. This watch has some nice features and it worked well for me until I had to charge it for the second time, and that is where it let me down. The watch wouldn't charge. Not sure if it was the charger or the watch, but I ultimately returned it. I'll buy another Garmin watch, but I'll spend a little more money in hopes of getting my money's worth.

A step forward but still some deficiencies

I have been using it for one month. Previously I had a Vivomove HR and its LED display failed after 4 years. Good points of the Sport - the heart rate sensor is more accurate. My intensity minute scores are way up. - additional sensors/metrics: sleep score, sleep pulse ox, respiration, body battery Not so good points: - it undercounts steps when I walk with poles. I was expecting MoveIQ to be now smart enough to detect hiking with poles - battery life is closer 3 days than the advertised 5 - Body Battery lacks normative references. In the meantime, you can track it against yourself

Tracks my steps perfectly.

Bought this one because my old Garmin gave up the ghost, and the setup was easy to my account. Tracks my steps and exercise perfectly. Very happy with it.

Great value!

I had a few Fitbits and an old Samsung watch before this, and the Fitbits were great software and fitness focus but lacked in reliability/was buggy, while the Samsung seemed super fancy on-watch software with few bugs but lacked fitness focused features hardware and software wise. Plus Fitbit has gone down hill, imo, with their subscription and being bought by Google. This Garmin has so far be a great middle ground. Has all the fitness features I want, while remaining bug free. I love the simplicity of the hybrid, allowing for a long battery life but still having the features I want from my smart watch. So far my biggest complaint is the screen brightness is much too dim to see in bright sunlight, so you kinda get stuck just using it as a normal watch. I feel this is certainly a great purchase if you want a fitness focused smart watch on a budget. The stylish looks make it reasonable to wear around town or at work, too!

a huge disappointment

Sadly, as usually happens with online shopping, the colour on the website is no where near the colour of the product. the Cocoa colour is ugly -- especially the strap. The watch is uncomfortable to wear. It isn't smart enough to know that it doesn't go to bed with me and assumes because I told it a bedtime, I'm sleeping and gives me a sleep score for up to the time I take it off. When I say I want metric units of measure, I want metric units of measure for everything ... not just my activities. The weather, distance, and sleep widgets are next to useless. I also would like to set the timer for longer than 59 min; and set my exercise time or distance from the watch, not the awkward multilayered app. I do not find the app all that intuitive. I boutght it because I respect the Garmin brand, and wanted the analogue clock face. I think I will return it;l I thought of exchanging it, but I doubt firmware / software issues -- which really are at the heart of what I dislike most about the watch -- differ with the styles.

Good quality, but small and low qty of funtions

Good quality, but small for my taste and my Chinese electronic watch has a lot more functions and per 1/10 of the price!

Meets all my needs!

I have had this watch for two years and had to have help to reset certain settings on two different occasions. The service department was wonderful and kind in giving me help. Most younger owners would not have needed help to figure how to reset but at 76 this is a whole new adventure. The watch works well and has had no problems with how it works. I would happily recommend this vivomove Sport to everyone.

Stopped charging

I loved this watch and all its features. The only problem is that it stopped charging just over a year of purchase making the warranty void. Very unfortunate

Beautiful and functional!

Received my vivomove Sport today, 25 days from order date. It was well worth the wait. I'm very pleased with the easy set-up to get started and am thrilled that it is pretty enough to be worn with my nice jewelry. I'm a very happy customer!

I've purchased several different watches in the past but think I have finally found the keeper! It's attractive and easy to use, easy to set up and love the app that accompanies the watch!

90% Satisfied. I love the watch face!

I bought it a year ago for our Scotland trip to track steps, and we walked a lot. I'm forgetful to turn it on for specific hikes out in our hills and over to the bays, or I forget to STOP, but it stays accurate in comparison to a friends tracker. The biggest "life saver" is that it showed me low in sleep pulse ox and now I am on a CPAP machine for nights. Overall, my dissatisfaction is my own difficulty in operation. I would recommend this watch for anyone who wants a fashionable and functional watch.

Great watch for women

I got this as a Christmas present and have loved tracking my heart rate, sleep score, and steps over the past few weeks. There are many other features like the body battery and oxygen scanner that I think are super cool. This watch has helped me set goals and follow through. I really love the look of it, when the screen is off, it looks like a classic watch. I've never worn a watch habitually before and it's extremely comfortable. I never take it off except to charge it.

Great watch

Our first garmin was the VENU. We enjoyed itsbfeatured and performance. We wanted a more traditional round look. The Move is awesome. Has similar features as venu. We would like the Move to to have a back light or indigo of watch hands. The back light only engaged when tapped, not on movement of arm.

Great size and features for a 2nd Garmin watch

I bought this as a compliment to my Fenix 6 watch for a couple of reasons. First I wanted to monitor my sleep and personally found the Fenix bulky. Second, the Vivomove Sport fits better when wearing a dress shirt when I am unlikely to need the adventure features of the Fenix. Body metrics are best viewed in the Connect app rather than the small watch face of the Vivomove, but standard functions such as time, alerts etc work well on the available screen.

Sleep tracking needs a little work.

I'm a college student with crazy sleep patterns, which is of course not ideal but I need to keep track of my sleep. This watch isn't good for that. It's mainly good for people who have a proper routine sleep schedule. It doesn't detect naps at all.

A Step Ahead of Vivomove HR

I bought the Sport because my HR OLED was becoming fuzzy. Eventhough the face is smaller than the HR, the Sport is easier to read and the hand move away from the messages that appear. It has a lot more health programs and reminders and responds better to wrist movement. The pairing wasn't easy, and I find that the battery doesn't last up to five days. But all in all it is well worth the money.

Does exactly what I was looking for

Keeps a battery life for a couple of days as long as you don't use the some sleep oxygen feature that really drains the battery but its overall a great hybrid. Looks and acts like a watch while also tracking everything I need. wish is came with gps but hey the price point is great.
