Out of the box was able to see the manufacturing quality right away. This watch just does so much out of the box. Love how I don't need a bunch of "apps" and such to make it great.

Loveeeee my first Garmin

I'm learning it while it's learning me (only slightly scary) but so far this is a net plus. Gives me more actionable data and the more I learn about the internal architecture the more tools I have. Many features are not intuitive so requires some thought but no more than other devices we eventually embrace.

New to Garmin but learning

I've had it for 2 months. The map feature is nice. Not quite as bright as I expected but sufficient. The watch charges really good when you're biking. Not as good while hiking/walking but still does- the angle to the Sun I'm guessing? I had trouble when we went to Europe and entered different time zones. I tried syncing with WiFi but couldn't get it to automatically adjust even though it is set up that way in my settings and wouldn't align like my iPhone automatically did. Had to manually change the times.

I don't use the running features but there are quite a few for training. Overall I really like the look and features of the watch and am happy with my purchase.

Forerunner 955 solar

Got the watch a month ago, first Garmin ever, I needed one since the old one died after a swimming session, I'm also preparing for a few running events this year, including a half marathon and planning to try triathlon later on! It works amazing and the battery is incredible

Great fitness tracker

I've had this watch for a few weeks Abe absolutely love it! I upgraded from the Vivoactive 4s. There are many more features and the battery life is perfect for ultras! Definitely a great purchase!

Battery life!!!

I switched Fenix6 Pro to this model after inconsistencies I had with fenix.i decided on this model after reading reviews and my partner's 955 was giving him good data. I'll be sticking with this model for a while.

Love the Garmin 955

I used to have a Garmin Fenix ??6s and it was getting uncomfortable on my wrist, the nylon strap made it a little easier to wear but it still wasn't a good solution (even if I loved my watches). So I was looking for a lighter, more comfortable Garmin model to wear. I prefer running and working out in the gym so the Forerunner is great for that. I chose the 955 over the newer model because I really liked the screen on the Fenix ??which is visible in different lighting conditions and doesn't need to be constantly backlit. New features for me are the touchscreen, the Spotify app (I can run without my phone), the morning review and lots of new stats that help me understand my body. I find myself exercising and staying active with my new Forerunner 955 more than I did before and it really pushes me to achieve new goals.

I bought it a month ago only for my workouts. I love how all German devices connect and gives me a all the information about my workouts

Great Overall Watch

I bought the 955 for the features - I road race and triathlon so the watch is a valuable tool. Having issues playing music on the watch.

Plenty of information and uses.

Does what I wanted, but I don't know what half the readings mean. Manual is over 100 pages long. After a couple weeks I can get it to do what I need. Other features are fine, maybe some day I'll figure them out.

Great, but too complicated.

I upgraded from an Apple Watch SE to the Garmin 955 forerunner. It is superior in every way I can think of. I would recommend this watch to anyone at any level of endurance sports.

Excellent smart watch.

I have been using it for a short time as a replacement for another brand and I have found it to be exceptional, lighter, more precise and with great functionalities.

Lightweight, fast and accurate

I think it's kind of silly how much people use these smart watches, and get inaccurate data that they actually try using. I basically got the watch to have music without carrying my phone. It does do that. However the day I received it, Garmin was down. Like the site, apps, everything. So my initial experience was pretty bad, when nothing works, the actual minute you get the watch. And seriously, you guys have so many forms of data that aren't even accurate. Why even waste time on that? You cannot give me an accurate VO2Max. It also has no idea what a real workout is, which makes me wonder who is even making these watches. But it does actually do the things I wanted. GPS and music. But the rest is just shiny objects that make people believe things about their fitness levels that aren't true.

Amazing watch!!

I recently sold my beloved old Fenix 5X, after many years and literally thousands of tracked running miles - it served me well, but I just couldn't take the FOMO from seeing all the cool new features on newer Garmin watches. I considered the 965, but since I'm really more concerned with function over form, I figured the less-flashy screen and basically identical features would be good enough for me. I was right! This thing gives me everything I used regularly from my Fenix - which was probably overkill, since I really just do a lot of road and trail running, no kayaking or skydiving or shark-wrestling or whatever other activities the Fenix could track - plus a ton of features that I *thought* might just be superfluous, but turn out to be surprising accurate and helpful. All the body battery, load focus, etc. stuff seems to be way more helpful than I expected. The sleep and stress tracking seem way more accurate. Maps and GPS and all the regular functionality are as terrific as always. And after years of wearing that chunky Fenix, I can't believe how much lighter and more comfortable this is for daily use. I love it, and look forward to another few thousand miles of getting to know it better...

Great Smart Watch

I use my Forerunner 955 for running, trail running, hiking, swimming, biking, mountain biking, and pickleball - and it handles them all very well. The display is bright and works with my polarized sunglasses. It took a bit to get used to the touch-screen but now I really like it. The use of color in the display is well done.

I upgraded from an Instinct Solar to this model and I love it. Battery life is great. GPS detection is pretty fast. The UI is similar. Overall a great watch. Highly recommend!

Superb upgrade

I had a Vivoactive for over 10 years and I spent months looking into its replacement. I wanted a watch that could support my active lifestyle, was stylist but super functional and long lasting. The 955 Solar (Forerunner) is the best watch I could have have ever asked for. I swim 2-3 miles/week, run 10-15 miles/week, and bike between 15-30 miles/week and this watch definitely keeps up. The only thing I wish it tracked better was my swim distance during my kick sets (has stroke detection so when not using your arms it doesn't track) but the watch has built in music so you can listen to music without running or carrying your phone.



Overall, very satisfied with this watch. Send me another for FR$$ :)

I bought the solar Forerunner 955 a month ago. Solar recharge is fantastic when exploring remote areas. I have just begun exploring all its functions, but the basics-wear and go-are simply awesome, enhancing my everyday living.

Meet your Challenges with Garmin

Less dropped laps. Holding the charge longer (albeit some of that is the newer btty). The better position of lights on wrist make it much less likely for those lazers to abruptly interrupt my sleep... so now I can wear it overnight. Adjusting favorites (in/out) still a mystery... plan time to do it, and keep those steps for when you need them again... unless you enjoy the website webbing of instructions. Overall, Glad to have it with me.

Definitely better than a step up from Frrnnr 945

I bought the Forerunner 955 Solar about a month ago when I misplaced my Instinct Solar, thinking it would definitely show up once I ordered something new-well, not yet. So far, I really like it better with the color graphics, etc. It seems pretty intuitive to use, too. As for solar, the Instinct held a charge for weeks, but the Forerunner needs charging more frequently. It is not a big deal, however, to place it on the charger while I shower. I have not used all the bells and whistles yet, but the online manual has been great for figuring out how to access things I know I want to use.

So far, it is great!

Heart rate sensor is so accurate. 

Still figuring out all of the capabilities of the watch but it has helped me in terms of working out, recovering, and even sleep.
