I went out of my way to find this memory card holder by Gepe. It has every aspect of keeping memory cards safe.They are tough enough to withstand any pressure or weight that may fall on it accidentally. It is a clean, tight fitting plastic insert holding the cards so I have no fear of dust or possible scrapes that may occur even within the inside of where it is placed.Wonderful accessory for serious or beginning photographers cuz nothing more important than keeping data safe! It's got some heft to it but this case isn't getting pushed around. I've had this case for 17 years now and all it shows is some fine scratches from all its years of service. If traveling light is of utmost importance, you may want to go with something like a ThinkTank pouch but if you need ultimate protection, Gepe and Pelicans are the way to go.

As a waterproof case for my most used memory cards. Also can stack SD, CF, and other cards so capacity is actually storage for more than 4 cards.

I bought this case to replace a ballistic nylon card wallet. On the positive side, it is waterproof, dustproof, and keeps the cards very secure. On the negative side, it only holds four cards of each type and the cards can only be inserted one way (no flipping a used card here). For me the negatives are not an issue and the positives are a step up.

I tend to shoot smaller capacity CF cards so I don't risk losing tons of photos if something goes wrong. This is my 3rd GEPE Extreme safe and all have worked well. I like the bright colors cause it makes them easy to spot if you actually drop one in the water/grass, etc. The consruction is excellent. The cards fit in this safe really tight but once you are used to that, it isn't a problem.

The case is great. But its does take a little adjusting when putting CF cards in to the slot. If it goes in too far it takes a little more pull to get the cards out of the case. Other than that it's a sturdy case to protect your cards.

A prior reviewer commented that the cards are difficult to remove; they are snug but I have not found them to be that hard to remove. I have found them more difficult to put in. With that said, the construction is excellent. This unit uses hinges, not flexible plastic. Not only does is carry four CF cards (or whatever you use), but you can also put four more SD cards in it as well. I keep 4 CF and 4 SD cards in it. It is the BEST media card case I have seen. I put down "bulky" as a con, it is more bulky than the cheaper cases out there. Now, if that means that they will stay safer, then I really don't care. The construction is much better than the other ones I have used. However, if you are buying it just for SD cards, it is a bit of an overkill. Gepe makes a smaller case for the SD sized cards for a little less money. Bottom line, it is well made and functional... well worth the money.

Very well built, water tight, rock solid. Only concern is the (slightly) tight fit of the CF cards in their respective slots. They can be difficult to get out (when you are in a hurry). I think these slots may "wear in" after some use, so it's not a deal breaker by any means.

I have two of these in different colors. I use one for storing blank CF or SD cards and the other for storing cards with images on them. They are easy to find in my bag, convenient and they are very secure. Having two different colors allows me to easily keep track of my memory cards.

Overall nice product, but the CF cards were so tightly held in place I had to pry them out...which I was concerned would eventually damage them. Oh the irony!! I imagine over time that maybe they will loosen a bit, but right now I don't use this product.

This is my second purchase of a Gepe Extreme Card Safe. I've used the first one ever since I started the switch to digital about 5 years ago. To me, it's a perfect product. It securely holds & protects the cards from just about any peril and it's a bright color, so it's hard to misplace or lose. Plus it floats! I got up to owning 8 cards & keeping spares in my pants pockets. Almost lost one & decided it was madness not to have all of them securely stored, so I purchased a second Card Safe. Bottom line - If you own more cards than cameras, you need these to safely store the extras.

I had one for many years. It resisted all kind of abuses traveling with me across the globe. Can double storage by placing SD under the CF. I needed more storage so I bought excatly the same. I even kept the same color (bright yellow)because it is so easy to find in bag. So strong can easy stay days in your pocket. Highly recommended.

Gepe makes good products, I've used many of their slide mounts with anti-newton glass and was pleased with the level of finish. The card safe isn't any exception; it can take a different format in each pocket, the labels can face in or out, the rubber is anti-stat, you can stand on the thing and it only the case will bear the force (unless you're Andre the giant and crush it!) I would actually pay more for this case...something I rarely admit.

This is solidly built. Seems like it will last a while and protect your cards well. You can fit an sd card and then a cf card above it at the same time in each space.

The big advantage to the Extreme case over the other Gepe card holders is the hinge. It's an actual hinge instead of a piece of plastic that will wear and separate. Haven't tested if it's waterproof, but construction is solid. It is definitely not small.
