Garmin makes many different charger that put out different watts - from -00 to -08.Trying to find one for the 500 was very hard to find in milwaukee area - it was easy to find others but not the -00 model. Thank for keeping this in stock for us.[...] When I 1st bought my nuvi 500 I bought a off-brand charger - usb bundle for about 30 dollars - The 1st time I use that model my nuvi it went to pot. After about 2 weeks and a new 500 unit from Garmin I do think it is important to use the correct Garmin Charger for the unit you want to charge. A Hard lessen to learn. Works Perfectly
I lost my AC charger for my Garmin Nuvi 360 and have been looking for a replacement. I considered a generic, but felt more comfortable with the matching Garmin brand. And it works perfectly! It even came with travel adapters for Europe! How great is that?

Charging away from home or auto a breeze
On occasion I need to be able to charge my Garmin GPS when I'm traveling. I have other electronic gadgets that compete for the one and only power source in my car, so having an AC adapter to use in a hotel room is very handy. The charger is sturdy and doesn't take up much room in my suitcase. I can't think of anything impractical about the charger since it has a very specific purpose. I'd recommend that anyone who has a Garmin GPS should have one of these AC chargers on hand when charging in your car or at your computer isn't practical.
