Excellent Product

People constantly expect everything they buy to be absolutely perfect and able to do everything....and they'd like it for free too. This machine for the money can not be beaten. If folks realized the incredible mathematics and technology behind GPS they'd maybe stop complaining and just use this greatest invention since the map. Billions of D.O.D. money spent on the GPS satellite system and related technology and they're griping that it "takes too long to acquire satellites".....give me a break.

Excellent value

This is an excellent GPS overall. The American female voice has an annoying way of dropping her voice at the end of each word. It does take some time to aquire satellites much of the time but once it does, it works very well.

Such a small box for such a Huge package

I use my 350 as a photographer's "shot" marker in order to relocate a specific location. I wouls have appreciated "on-foot" makings as I walk off-road quite a bit. This helps in getting back to my car after "the hike". No complains otherwise. A very Solid unit!

Nice piece of toy.... :)

Hello, I will be shortly about this GPS. It works, Garmin makes good stuff. I use it in Bs As Argentina, so the only map available is PROYECTO MAPEAR, which is for the garmin brand. Is acquires satellites fast, doesnt loose signal in the downtown, the SIRF III is really good. I recommend it for anyone who wants a reliable GPS. The only one downside it has is it doesnt record tracks, so yo cant save your way and see it later in GoogleMaps. Para la gente en Argentina, compren GARMIN tranquilo que los mapas de PROYECTOMAPEAR andan barbaro y encima son gratis. Thanks and Bye

User Friendly

Bought this as a gift to my son. He loves it . He travels alot and this gets him where ever he wants to go. No need for a map. Now to convince DH I need one for my birthday. The only problem the suction cup comes loose from the windshield and the GPS falls in the floor.

About Garmin nuvi 350, Portable GPS Car Navigator & Personal Travel Assistant with 3.5" LCD Touch Screen and USB Interface

Introducing the nuvi - a versatile travel assistant that's approximately the size of a deck of playing cards. The nuvi is a portable GPS navigator, traveler's reference, and digital entertainment system, all in one. Combined with detailed maps, the nuvi provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and finger-touch screen control - making it easy to find your way, anywhere.

The nuvi also offers a travel kit of useful travel tools to help keep any journey fun MP3 player, audio book player from Audible.com, JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, and calculator. In addition, optional software packages such as the Language Guide and Travel Guide (sold separately on SD Data cards) can be added for language and content support.

Users can access an optional Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish.

The Language Guide lets travelers look up, and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language. Through the unit's text-to-speech interface, users can get a spoken pronunciation of each entry in the word bank - along with gender, and part-of-speech information. The new Garmin Travel Guide (optional) is loaded with information provided by Marco Polo.

The nuvi automatically calculates the fastest route, and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. Thanks to the nuvi's text-to-speech functionality, the unit audibly announces the name of upcoming streets - letting drivers keep their eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic, and tricky roadways. If users stray off course, the nuvi automatically calculates the quickest way to get back on track.

The nuvi even provides traffic alerts (in select cities) when used with a compatible traffic receiver. By adding traffic services, and a receiver to your nuvi, you can avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button to calculate a new route. The nuvi also supports custom points of interest (POIs), and configurable vehicle icons - fun, customized car-shaped icons in a variety of colors that show your position on the map.

The nuvi 350 includes pre-loaded City Navigator NT maps of the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It also comes with an A/C charger, and approximately 700 MBs of internal memory for storage of supplemental maps, MP3s, and audio books (available from Audible.com).
