Setting up specific address prior to a trip makes it such a piece of cake while on vacation. Adding locations on-the-fly is quick and easy.

The device is awesome, I've tried TomTom interface before, but I have to say I like this one better. Menus are easy and intuitive, nice text to speech. Very good GPS chip (SiRF STAR III has been the best for quite a while), locks quickly and reliably even inside the house. Comes with a car charger and a good mounting solution for either dashboard or windshield. The only con I see the battery life is much shorter than what's advertised, they say 7 hrs, I don't see it more than 3 or 4 hrs, this may not be a big issue if you're planning to hook it up to the provided car charger all the time. Traffic information feature is awesome, it routes us away from heavy traffic. Bottom line, it's a great unit to have, but still would not give it 5 stars for battery life

I ordered the Garmin Nuvi 660 with expedited shipping due to needing to drive to multiple locations in Houston, where I had never driven. Without the Garmin, I'd be lost and still driving in Houston. Now I'm using it for everyday travel and don't know how I survived without it!

[...]The unit was eligible for the 2009 map upgrade due to purchase date. When the upgrade was attempted, the unit fried itself. After 9.5 hours of download and phone time with Garmin Tech support, it was determined the unit was done. To Garmin's credit, they took responsibility for the meltdown and replaced the unit overnight with an upgrade to a Nuvi 760. I'm not really happy with the 760, it lacks a lot of the features of the 660 but, its what they wanted to do. All in all, its been a disappointing venture and in the future I doubt that I'll get another GPS.
