This is a good cam, but I didn't purchase it. The HERO 7 White refurb with 1 year warranty is on GoPro site @ 119.99. So why pay 10 extra for a used 5 with only a 30 day????

Great camera and value
Bought this camera for my husband for his birthday, he loves mountain biking and taking it on adventures. Just recreational things like that but it works great for those uses!! Perfect camera for a recreational/amateur user!!

short batter life.
pretty useless for most stuff because of battery life. 1 hour max for battery that came with the camera. you often can't just stop and switch batteries in the middle of an action video shoot.

I love the go Pro Hero 5 black, I lost the last one I had so I just got this one again.
It's pretty easy to figure out, cool technology and such a little package. Some of the compartments are hard to open, but it is waterproof so they should be. Love that's voice activated. I wouldn't be buying another one if I didn't like it. I'm still pissed I lost the last one

Great camera
I have the 4. I like the screen on the 5 and the thing that I don´t need the case to get into the water.
I thing the 6 is not better enough to pay the extra many that it cost.

Best Overall Value Action Cam
Now at just $, the GoPro Hero 5 is my go to action cam, especially when you're setting up more than 1. I've been using this model for over a year now and just purchased another one. The video quality is ridiculously clear when you have ample lighting. The digital stabilizer that's built in keeps my 2.7K footage nice and smooth when moving, even pretty good when hand held.
The voice commands work great on this and can even be heard when the camera is still wet. Works well underwater in both fresh and salt water.
No complaints on this camera, I love it!

Captures everything well
Excellent in just about every way. 4K when I need it, and it takes raw photos for my editing needs, along with stabilization for when shooting those smooth panning shots.
Only thing it lacks is good sounding audio. You have to either use the overpriced GoPro adapter to use an external mic, or you could simply use a separate audio device such as a Zoom recorder and sync video and audio when editing.
The lack of a decent audio capture is fine since the idea of purchasing a GoPro is all about the quality of video you want to capture and not the audio. If you need great audio AND video, a proper video camera is what you should be buying instead. Or, as mentioned before, just get a separate audio recorder to go with the GoPro.

Super useful tool
This new GoPro exceeded expectations coming from the Hero 4 Black. The voice control, longer battery life, raw photo, and Image stabilization are amazing features. I shoot a lot of promotional videos and events, so a tiny camera like this that shoots in 4k is a welcome addition. It's so small that I end up taking it with me over my Sony mirrorless.
The image stabilization isn't amazing, but it certainly helps where a final won't fit.

GoPro HERO5: Outstanding Action Camera
I am very happy with my purchase of the GoPro HERO5 Action Camera. It has all the functionality that I needed, and more. I highly recommend this product. The software from GoPro is excellent and I can also use the Apple Final Cut Pro X for post processing.
Adorama as always delivered the camera on time and bundled a Sandisk 64GB in it for free. Very good deal, not matched by the other on-line retailers.

after finally selling both of my gopro 2 cameras, i was firmly convinced i would not own another gopro. then came the hero 5 black...WOW!!! what an improvement over the gopro2! i absolutely love everything it does and i am still learning!!!

Robust features, but still no good in less than sunlight
Impressive features, and the touch screen works well even in water. Stabilization is very helpful. But it's still very poor quality video and still photos in anything less than bright sunlight. That greatly limits the usefulness.

Great camera for a variety of uses, not just action
I am using this camera as a down shooter to shoot videos of books and flat artwork. It has distortion correction built in, so it works perfect for this purpose. The one button simplicity of shooting is great too.

Nice gadget
The GoPro hero 5 is easy to use. The quality of video and photo is good. But you do need fast microSD card (>30MB/s) to capture smooth video. One thing I don't like is the covers for the battery and USB slot are so difficult to slide open.

Love the new HERO5!
I really enjoy the fact that GoPro has done away with the external casing (unless I go diving), which makes this camera a lot easier to use. The quality is stunning, and I'm enjoying getting some great shots both in and out of the water.

I got a hero 5 black a couple weeks ago. It's been great so far but I have one major problem: the body transmits any movement on it straight to the microphones. Handling noise is very loud and disruptive. You can avoid it mostly by holding your hand very still but it's hard to avoid with mounts if they have any give at all. An external mic with a shock mount would probably help.
