I'm far from an expert, but I am slowly building a guitar collection. This Gretsch played great right out of the box, with a very quick action, easy playablility. I paired it with a Vypyr VIP 3, and the sound is great, at least for the blues/classic rock I'm interested in. My only other electric is a MIM Strat, so this is obviously quite a bit different, but I love it so far.

I am really impressed with this guitar for the price point. It plays and sounds great out of the box. Intonation and action is good. The nut needs a slight filling but nothing major. Paint and binding is flawless. Nothing to complain about

This is my second Gretsch in just as many months. Long story short, I am on the fence with this one and gave it the benefit of the doubt for four stars instead of three. First, it's a very attractive guitar and it's sound/tone is great. My biggest issue is that its play-ability is not as friendly as my other Gretsch. I find my hands being all over the place and muddying the notes. It's not as fast playing of an instruments and the strings require more deliberate and committed pressing of the strings. I am not 100% convinced this is my issues versus the design of the guitar and not a problem I've ever had in the past and since I don't experience any of this with my other Gretsch, I'm inclined to be more critical of this instrument. Again overall, these are my experiences and it is a nice instrument, but it's just not as fluid as I ultimately like.
