I've been a classic fender/Gibson player for all of my playing guitar (just over 15 years). I must mention that I'm only a bedroom player as well. I just play guitar as a hobby. After wanting new sounds/inspirations, I decided to finally give this guitar a try. I was blown away when I heard the clarity in the notes and the overall feel. Like most guitars, it really makes you play differently. I thought most of my time spent playing that I would only play the brands mentioned above. I really enjoy this because it gives me a feeling that I can really make my own music, and don't have to copy anyone else's for once. It's very comfortable to play and is pretty lightweight as well. I thought buying it, that it would be this heavy guitar and awkward to play. Very much the opposite in my opinion. I actually like the fact that it doesn't have a bigsby as well. I'm a classic rock player mostly, and have dabbled with lofi music lately. This guitar really fits the bill. It doesn't feedback as much as a hollow body would. When you play the notes and it does feedback, it's really cool to feel it resonate throughout. The tuning doesn't seem to be a problem to me at all. The only downfall of this guitar that does bug me, is the fret access. Sometimes I wish it was a double cut and sometimes I like the aesthetic. I go back and forth, but overall I love the guitar and am glad my first hollow body was this. If you want to add something different to your collection, this is it. I I also threw some dice style volume and tone knobs. I am a believer in this brand after this purchase

Before you dive into the world of Gretsch guitars, let's introduce you to the G5420LH Electromatic Classic Hollow Body Single-Cut Left-Handed Electric Guitar. This instrument is a testament to the timeless Gretsch sound and style, inspired by the classic tones of the '50s and '60s.
The G5420LH Electromatic Classic Hollow Body Single-Cut is more than just a guitar; it's a step into the Gretsch legacy. This left-handed model is meticulously crafted with a laminated maple body, featuring vintage-inspired perimeters and refined arches that echo the aesthetics of a bygone era.
The all-new trestle block bracing is a standout feature, designed to reduce unwanted feedback. This innovative design increases the rigidity and contact between the top and back of the body, resulting in a sound that has a faster attack, more focus, snap, and increased sustain.
The voice of this hollow body guitar is amplified by the all-new FT-5E Filter'Tron pickups, delivering a full-bodied punch, classic chime, and enhanced presence, clarity, and note definition. This is a guitar that truly sings, offering a unique tonal palette for the discerning musician.
The G5420LH also boasts an all-new Classic "C"-shaped maple neck, providing a comfortable playing feel for improved playability and performance. The 12"-radius laurel fingerboard is a joy to play, offering smooth, effortless navigation across the frets.
This left-handed model is alive and resonant, featuring a versatile upgraded control layout that includes master volume with treble bleed circuit, master tone, individual pickup volume controls, and a three-position pickup toggle switch.
The aesthetic details are not to be overlooked. The oversized bound F-holes, multi-ply body binding, smaller late-'50s G6120 bound headstock, vintage-style open-back tuning machines, Graph Tech NuBone nut, pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, secured Adjusto-Matic bridge, and a Gretsch G-cutout tailpiece all contribute to the guitar's stunning visual appeal.
Finished in a standout Orange Stain, complete with a silver pickguard and nickel hardware, the G5420LH Electromatic Classic Hollow Body Single-Cut Left-Handed Electric Guitar is a resplendent instrument that commands attention. Experience the sound of honor and play with pride with this Gretsch masterpiece.
