Great guitar. Just need help removing excess wax from pickups.
The guitar is fine overall. Finish is good and it plays well. I just need help getting the wax off the pickups.

New Gretsch 2655 Guitar

Great Guitar with amazing quality
Bought the guitar with walnut stain - actual color is pretty close to website, but is nicer than it looks on screen because you can see the woodgrain through it. Quality of finish, fretwork, binding, and overall is better than my American made Gibson SG. If you can get this on special sale it is an incredible value. Adorama was quick to send it and it was double boxed. Arrived with little or no need for setup, which is surprising - maybe Adorama sets these up before shipping? Thanks Adorama!

Great guitar and great company!
I had to return my first guitar because it had a faulty cable plug. I called customer service and they sent me another one next day air. I was very satisfied and the guitar is great.

I’d definitely buy it again
Very nice instrument. Fit/finish & overall construction are very good. Pickups are quite nice, not too hot in my opinion. A little bit of an issue with keeping it in tune, but that may be a break in/string stretch issue, don’t want to knock a star off this early in. For the awesome price I paid, I’m very pleased.

Looks great, and I wanted to love it, but...
...the Bigsby vibrato is just awful. It is completely unusable. I goes out of tune if you look at it sideways.
Ok, it's not all that bad, but the design of this guitar is such that there is a huge angle in the strings as they go over the saddles. This causes the saddles to "dig in" to the string causing the strings not to return to their natural in-tune position when releasing the vibrato. I own several guitars and I am adept at properly setting up a guitar. I have never returned a guitar for tuning issues, but this one will be going back.
On a side note, the guitar is gorgeous and the pickups sound great! I would probably be keeping it if it weren't for the tuning issues.

You should buy this guitar!
This is an amazing guitar. The setup and action were perfect right out of the box. I only had to tune it up about a half step to be in tune. The finish was flawless and I didn't see any paint issues at all. The pickguard had some issues, but adorama compensated me for that. Overall this is a great value and an absolute steal if you can catch it on sale. The pickups are a bit more Les Paulish, but still very much their own animal. Overall I love it.

Great for the price
I combined a few promotions, and purchased this guitar for $. It was absolutely worth the price. Plays well, no complaints with fit and finish, and arrived on time. Full disclosure: I'm not a guitar expert, so the more astute player might find more flaws with the action and tone. But as an amateur looking for something to play around with, this hit the spot. Would purchase again.

Excellent value!
The G2655T Streamliner that I received is a professional quality instrument at a beginner instrument price! No finish flaws or substandard electrical components here. Very solid Indonesian-made guitar that approaches my best American-made instruments. My hat's off to Gretsch and to Adorama for offering a quality instrument at a very affordable price.

Great guitar, so far Adorama price are lowest online.
Loved this guitar. Awesome looking. Like many other reviews, I can't stop staring at the guitar. It looked awesome. Smaller than I though, but that is a good thing. Wood finishes are much better than my Fender in similar price range. Overall quality feels premium.

Very nicely done!
High quality construction and components, and a very nice finish. Feels solid and sounds full when plugged in. You're not going to get a full-sounding acoustic experience, but that's a given because it's a thin-body. If I had one complaint, it's that the "range" seems a little restricted. For example, I can't really hear the difference between the sound of a straight E chord and an E-minor, and I'm used to that being easily distinguishable on a Strat or Les Paul.
