Questions & Answers

Shopper : In general, how is the Bigsby tuning-wise? Does the guitar stay in tune after normal usage (NOT dive-bomber whammy-bar usage...that's not what a Bigsby is for)?Lindsey P : Before you do anything, loosen the strings, pull them from nut and, iif low strings stick in the nut, widen the slot just slighly with a file, then run a lead pencil a few times in all the nut slots; Go to bridge and dab tiny amount of lithium grease under string. Those 2 fixes done, the strings will move easily with bigsby action. It's the same on a $2500 guitar with bigsby. Next string change, do it again.Carlos H : I find myself tuning the guitar before I use it .... I have owned it for about a year and it is not my primary guitar... I like it because its easy to play...i still have the original strings that came with it and that could be the problem... I do love the guitar, it's weight and ease of play... It is easy on the fingers...DEWAYNE W : It's perfect. If you're calm, cool and smooth it is too. If you are string stretcher then I have no idea what it will do.Otoniel A : It stays in tune fairly well, not like my Fenders but it has amazing sound. As long as I don't really push the bar too much, it stays in tune. Hope this helps.Shane R : This is a great guitar for the price, Im very happy with it. That said, despite the fit and finish being great, the nut leaves little to desire. I installed a String Butler (v2) on mine and cleaned up nut slots and has been fine with the Bigsby.Matthew M : The strings shipped with the guitar go out of tune when you use the (licensed) Bigsby. I was really worried at first. Then I replaced my strings with a medium gauge electric set, and it now stays in tune. Use a locking method (dip the slack end of the string under the tight end) and it will stay better. The tuners are a little suspicious, though. Tighten those up with a small screwdriver.
Daniel H : Is the neck replacable or is it glued in to the body?Kelly M : The neck is permanently set.Thomas S : Set neck, gluedMICHAEL P : The neck is glued to the body. Lovely guitar!Gary B : Glued in.James C : It is glued. Nice neck though.STEFAN C : it's a set neck(glued in)
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?GREGORY M : Had been looking at a similar item in different finish, but the sale price made it too good to pass up.LARRY R : Attracted by price and Gretsch qualityLuke B : Reasonable priceDAVID R : Great priceKelly M : I love Gretsch guitars and the price was incredible.James C : Quality and price. I have always been a fan of Gretsch guitars.bernie b : Great buy. Good comments by purchasers. A lot of value for the money. ThanksMarco L : Guitar with good reviews and was on sale.Dennis Z : This is an exceptional deal! The price is amazing. Im very excited.GUS F : Great product. Super Price. Easy ordering.Peter V : Normally this is a good value. On sale, it is a crazy good value.Gerardo R : Great reviews on other sites.Jerald M : It was such a great deal considering the $250 off the original price of $549. And the reviews were great on it.CHRIS S : Great price, like the block inlays and the walnut finish. I've always loved the archtop style, but a typical 335 body from Gibson or Epiphone are quite large.STAN T : This is an excellent instrument for the cost that was put up.

Pretty decent guitar, had a sharp fret end and the neck had a bow with some adjustments it plays very well, couldn't beat it for the price they offered it for.

Nice Gretsch with Bigsby

Overall a nice guitar. Out if the box it had good action and played well. The humbuckers sound good and you can get some nice tones out of it. However the tone knob did not have much variation, and Bigsby arm was a bit high for my taste - easily can be taken care of with a shorter spring.

Awesome Guitar!

I just purchased this guitar May 2024, I'm very pleased and pleasantly surprised. I own many expensive Fenders and was hesitant about purchasing a lower cost guitar but felt it was worth a shot since Fender owns Gretsch now and distributes these. I like the G2655T very much for what I paid. I also liked the customer service and how the guitar shipped. I like Adorama for these reasons. I may buy another one soon!

Great service and product

GREAT price. Wonderful guitar. Like the color even more than I thought. Looks remarkably better in real life than the photos. Shipped quickly and packed really well. So happy with it and the service I'm looking at another one now. Very happy all the way around. Wish I knew about Adorama sooner.

Love this guitar

This is probably the best guitar I've owned to date. The finish is beautiful. It's a deep cherry red with the walnut grains showing thru the finish. The action is super low and easy to play. The tremolo bar is sturdy. It's a masterpiece. My only two critiques is that the pin for the neck strap is on the back behind where the neck attaches to the body. And I wish the knobs had numbers on them. Still an extremely happy with this purchase.

Very Nice Guitar Value

The Gretsch G2655T is a fantastic guitar and plays well above the price. The guitar finish is different color based on lighting. It is light metallic green in standard home lighting, but shows as gunmetal gray in brighter lights. It was set-up well from the factory with string action of 1.6mm. Did have to give a little neck relief by seasonal truss rod adjustment (as expected). Overall a great guitar and a great experience shopping at Adorama.

Prefer this over my 1k plus guitar

This guitar is a amazing and very underrated. Love the sustain from the pickups, got a nice warm twang sound signature. My first bigsby and its awesome! Quality is better than epiphone. Adorama shipped this flawlessly and with quality strings. Green tone paint is just gorgeous. Not too flashy. Only slight negative is the strings dont hold tension as good as other guitars.

Excellent Guitar in Every Way

A really lovely guitar. The fit and finish are excellent. No fret sprout, and the frets were level and polished. The Broadtron pickups give you that classic Gretsch sound. Definitely recommended.

Awesome value.

The guitar is pretty resonant. It needs a little setup to be playable to my standards like adjusting the truss rod. It's lighter than I expected too. I'd say it's inspiring to play but maybe because it's the honeymoon period. Good buy overall.

Almost too classy to play, but I got over it!

Who doesn't need a Semi Hollow body guitar in a smaller body size. That's what I was thinking when I ordered this one in Walnut Stain and I'm glad I did. What a classy Gretsh. It is lighter than I expected and is very comfortable to play. Gretsch is building very nice guitars. No issues with them besides tweeking the setup, however... when I received the newly sealed guitar I saw the highest part of the Bigsby sticking out of the box and yes it had some damage from bumping into things from transport. Although this was a bummer, the rest of the guitar looks great, nice wood grain and overall a fine guitar. I called Adorama, showed them pictures of this issue and they sorted things out for me. It was fair and I kept the guitar. It has it's first "door ding".

Great Guitar with amazing quality

Bought the guitar with walnut stain - actual color is pretty close to website, but is nicer than it looks on screen because you can see the woodgrain through it. Quality of finish, fretwork, binding, and overall is better than my American made Gibson SG. If you can get this on special sale it is an incredible value. Adorama was quick to send it and it was double boxed. Arrived with little or no need for setup, which is surprising - maybe Adorama sets these up before shipping? Thanks Adorama!

Great guitar and great company!

I had to return my first guitar because it had a faulty cable plug. I called customer service and they sent me another one next day air. I was very satisfied and the guitar is great.

I’d definitely buy it again

Very nice instrument. Fit/finish & overall construction are very good. Pickups are quite nice, not too hot in my opinion. A little bit of an issue with keeping it in tune, but that may be a break in/string stretch issue, don’t want to knock a star off this early in. For the awesome price I paid, I’m very pleased.

Great Sound, Great Value!

By Carl R.

This is a beautiful instrument. It looks like fine furniture. Well packaged for delivery, and set up pretty close right out of the box. For this price point the sound is fantastic, and the instrument stays in tune. Have an original Epi Casino (same year the Beatles bought theirs), and American made Fender Strat... and this guitar is a strong contender for playability. The fret size is perfect for medium to small hands... and it has nice pickup differentials with clear distinctions. Well...

Good value guitar.

By WILLIAM G.

Good little guitar. Took a little setup, but sounds great. Did the pole screw mod on the neck pickup. Fun to play.

The exhilarating G2655T Streamliner Center Block Junior Double Cutaway is designed for three simple things-high gain-friendly performance, slick, easy playability and spectacular style. A sleek music machine, the G2655T cranks out the hits with updated features while staying true to That Great Gretsch Sound! that's been a vital component of rock 'n' roll since its inception.

The secret to the Streamliner's sound is twofold-the Broad'Tron humbucking pickup and the spruce center block. Specifically designed by the expert engineers at Gretsch for the Streamliner, the high-output Broad'Tron pickup spawns robust lows, pristine highs and a throaty midrange for a unique tone that blends well with other instruments in a band context. A lightweight spruce center block runs the length of the body, reinforcing the top while eliminating undesired feedback for volume-friendly performance on modern stages.

The Streamliner's sonic power is harnessed and shaped by the traditional control layout-neck and bridge pickup volume controls, a master tone control, master volume control and three-way pickup switching. Add some shimmer and expression to your playing with the Bigsby-licensed B50 vibrato tailpiece while the Adjusto-matic bridge with anchored base and synthetic bone nut grant astounding tuning stability and accurate, slip-free intonation. A fast-playing 12""-radius rosewood fingerboard with elegant pearloid block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets sits atop the white-bound neck with a thin "U"-shaped profile-ideal for chord work or fiery riffing.

All the classic eye-catching style you have come to expect from Gretsch is here-vintage-style black control knobs, F Holes, elegant two-ply white and black body binding, slick-looking nickel hardware, single-ply black pickguard with Gretsch logo and arched laminated maple construction. Easy to play while rocking out thanks to its smaller body, G2655T Streamliner Center Block Junior Double Cutaway with Bigsby is a phenomenal instrument for the modern musician who wants to control the stage and the audience while standing out from the pack.
