I have many of these devices and the Graslon works best, giving the nicest light while helping to preserve the batteries at the same time. You always need the largest light source possible and this one is surprisingly large for a device that just attaches to the flash and doesn't need an extra bracket. I also does not block the flash unit's Auto Focus Beam Emitter. By using mirrors inside, the Graslon actually pushes the light to the edges of the large front surface so that the surface doesn't have to be far away from the flash tube. The result is that the device has a lower profile than others and is easier to fit in a camera bag. Also, no one asks me why I have Tupper Ware on my camera. It doesn't allow light to travel out of the sides, delivering all of the light forward which is good for efficiency. The other devices claim that they give you a lot of bounce light but unless you are in a small, white room with a low ceiling you aren't bouncing anything anyway and you're loosing a lot of f-stop out of the front at the same time. Those mirrors in the device do such a good job of physically scattering the light that although the light is efficient and bright, it is also soft. Efficiency is important because it makes your batteries last longer and gives the light further reach. I'll be using the Graslon for a long time, and I think I might even try the domed front surface which is swap-able with the flat one I have now. It is supposed to give an even softer light with less shadows due to, I guess, it's larger surface area. It will take up more room in the bag but it might be worth having for event work where I know I won't be shooting anyone further than six feet away.
