The locking knob is on the left and the tensioning knob is on the right, the opposite to what I'm used to. Also, there is only one slot on the ball head mount for verticals rather than two.

This is a wonderful ballhead for its price tag. Many features include a pan function with a solid lock down. All aluminum contruction,no plastic parts to wear or break over prolong use.A pleasure to operate due to the oversized knobs, that have integrated rubber diamond pattern wrapped control surfaces. When picked up for first time you will notice the solid weight of the sturdy construction.Over all i feel its the best value for such a quality constructed ball head,so just buy it and prepare to be very impressed.

Replacement for another brand ballhead with one controll knob,This is Far better with full controll of motion and tension to hold the camera where you want it to stay. light weight yet heavyduty enough to get the job done no matter what. Getting another for the monopod QL plates the same no need to change.

This ballhead does a great job and supports a good amount of weight for its size. I only wish I had looked a little closer - the lack of a quick release plate is hard to get used to. Overall, a great ballhead for the price otherwise.

I use the ballhead for a small dslr and it works great. Used it on a larger manfrotto tripod (055XPRROB) and now I will be using it on a smaller Benro tripod. Very happy with the Giottos ballheads, especially for the price. They look and feel like quality.

Bought many years ago when it was much cheaper. Compact unit. Finish holding up. Friction controls nearly useless. Creeps when locking down. Action not smooth. Would not buy again at present price.

Geat Ball Head!!! I paired it with the Giottos MT-8350 carbon fiber tripod. Great Match. It is easy to use and sets up quickly.

This is my first ball head and I'm still getting used to it. But so far, so good. I have a Canon Rebel Tli and it seems to hold it very well, even with a 70-300 lens.

I wanted a nice, solid ballhead with levels for landscapes. I personally like to be able to setup quick and get to shooting when the opportunity arises and I really like the quickrelease on this ballhead. It feels very solid and easy to setup - the latch stays open and closes automatically when the camera/plate is put in place. Very solid connection.

I've used this ballhead on quite a few tripods...everything from a Gitzo to their very own Giottos tripods (which are also wonderful creations at a tremendous bargain!). Like many my first experience with Giottos is with their lens cleaning products, the infamous ROCKET. Now they are really making a name for themselves in the tripod/head business...very impressed with all their products so far. This head is EXTREMELY stable, and for a small DSLR setup it is perfect. The moment you pick it up you will notice the SOLID feel to the head, and the controls are simple to operate and function better than predicted. What a great find, and I'm so glad I took a chance on this head Vs. some of the more higher profile much more expensive heads out there.

I installed this on a Slik U212 Tripod that I've had for about 25 years. It works great and I don't know what some were talking about with the clamp breaking. Everything is metal and the head is very fluid in movements and I don't have any stability problems. I thought I might have an issue with mounting it on this older tripod, but the reducer worked fine. The only con might be that the three levels are small and they might make them bigger but the only time I use them is when I'm doing panoramas and stiching photos together.

Exactly what I needed. Several bubble levels, quick release plate, great controls. This was what i needed and it was affordable. Great purchase!

I have this mounted on a Manfrotto tripod. The combination is great. I can make adjustments quickly and accurately, with one hand on the camera and one on the head. Occasionally I use the built in levels and they work fine. I've been using it for sunset and night shots for longer exposures with great results.
