High Quality with built-in bubble levels

Personally, I prefer the drop and snap (designed in this head) versus the slide and snap quick release functionality on tripod heads. This head makes this task extremely simple where I don't need to really look at what I'm doing when attaching the camera. The slide and snap design is just as secure but seems to require slightly more attention when attaching a camera. Overall, the quality of this head is superb for the money. Also, it's the only head that I found that had multiple built-in bubble levels with the drop and snap design. This was definitely a selling point for me.

The head is very well made - a bit heavy for backpacking but that's why God made large rock outcrops and such

I use this product on a Giotto tripod for shooting wildlife, low light shots, and in other situations where my hands just aren't steady enough. I still have a Giotto, light-weight tripod with head but it did not support the weight of my Olympus E-Volt 510 with my long lemns mounted. I especially like the friction control adjustment as well as three bubble levels. The head is very well made - a bit heavy for backpacking but that's why God made large rock outcrops and such. Adorama folks did their usual high quality job in sending the right equipment the first time and on time.

Very sturdy and overall great product!

Overall, I love my new Giottos MH-1000. It holds my Nikon D7000 and battery grip without any issues. I've also used it to support a Nikkor 80-400mm and still holds strong.

Good Value & Versatile

Surprisingly solid but I wouldn't advise putting the full advertised weight on it (22 or 24 pounds I think). It might hold but why risk your camera?

Excellent for its intended use.

People should read and understand the product specs before buying and learn how to properly use the product before complaining.

A very good product. No compaints.

Great for long exposures and basic photography it is very stable and for a head this small and light I don't think you can beat it. There is nothing that I dislike about it.

Giottos MH-1000 Larger Ball Head w/Quick

The Giottos MH-1000 is functioning perfectly, for my purposes. Currently using it with 500mm long lens. So far, so good.

Excellent Ball Head

This is a well made ballhead. It is my first, so I can't compare to models costing 2 or three times as much. It does everything I expected. For me, it is better than the panhead which came with my tripod and is more useful.

solid product

despite being one of the cheaper ball heads i find this unit to be very solidly built with positive locking and smooth panning. i expect this to last indefinitely. the quick release works well to lock down my D200. my only complaint would be that the levels are not very high quality. but anyone who needs these would probably have a hot shoe mount level anyway.

Solid performer

Coupled to a set of Manfrotto 3021 legs, this is a rock solid platform for a Canon 30D with a 70-200 zoom attached. Silky smooth operation but locks up tight when needed. I was very concerned about the quality because it is so inexpensive when compared to other heads. My concerns drifted away after a few sessions in the field.
