Have never had any issues with G drives. This will do until I can invest in a SSD. Durable and pretty quiet.

Received our 10 Tb G-Drive. It's now being used as our Time Machine/backup and storage for both my wife and myself. Very compact drive for 10 Tb.

I bought the G Drive which makes it the 14th Drive that I now own, Tis one however is used for a clients special project. a documentary of her life. I felt with my sucessful history of G drives this would be the ideal choice It is also perfectly formatted with my iMac. simply plug in & go...

Clicks a lot. Maybe I just got a faulty one but I don’t trust it.

Solid build quality and great aesthetic design. While it’s all WD now instead of Hitachi, it all seems to work as expected. The unit is fanless, though operates a bit louder than I’d prefer. Still quieter than its predecessor its replacing. Reads and writes are fast. Oh, I had initial issues with it, but it turned out to be a USB-C to USB-A adapter issue. Switching devices remedied the problem.

I purchased this after reading a few reviews and I already own 4 other hard drives. I just needed one that would be connected consistently with my mac mini so that things could be backed up regularly. Setup was extremely simple since it came formatted for time machine. The build quality is solid and I don't hear any noises coming from it so far. Extremely happy with my purchase

I just opened it and there is no "Quick Start Guide" in the box.

This is the second G-Technology device I have used. It's sleek design and durable outer casing make it both beautiful and functional. Formatted for mac, its a simple plug and play device. Requires a/c plug. Recommend a surge protector as well, and note that it will not work on some generator/inverter systems (power supply).

This is my second 10TB G Tech and the third G Tech. It is a very good product, particularly its on-off swatch which most of HDs do not have. Also its 3 years warrant gives me some confidence on this brand. Used others before, but this brand is good for a photographer.

Great speed for editing, good storage, though this model is finnicky on power, and I've had to reformat it once or twice after it gets corrupted when the power's interrupted

I am using the drive on Windows 10. I did a quick format so it could be used with Windows and started copying files; the drive somehow disconnected and broke the copy. I then did a complete NTFS format and has been working without a hitch since.

A decent workhorse HDD. I have always used G-Tech products and this one seems quite reliable. The only downside is that it is a bit noisy with periodic clicks, unlike my older G-Tech firewire 800/usb 3 drive, which was quite silent. This seems an inherent characteristic of this product.

Perfect for storing/retrieving photos

Comes formatted for a Mac, but the instructions to reformat for Windows environment could not have been more clear. Retrieval times are lightening fast even with large RAW files.
