I already have a 6TB G-Tecnology Hard Drive and it was easy to install and has served me well. So naturally waited until this larger 14TB drive was available. They are a reliable brand and now I?ll be confident in transferring all my new photographs. Thank you Adorama!

It is mostly what I expected. My long shot was to get the maximum transfer speed with my older MBP with thunderbolt . It does what I need it to do and I?m considering to purchase another.

I've used G-Drives for years in my audio/video work because of their reliability. This one replaces an older Thunderbolt 1 drive from several years ago, that worked flawlessly without a hiccup. My new computer has Thunderbolt 3 ports - and it seemed like a good time to upgrade. It is noticeably faster. Plus, I've got to say, it looks nice, too.

The SSD arrived a day after the original delivery date but man, this thing does everything I need it to. I am a musician, photographer, videographer and I needed a solid desktop drive that would fit the part and this thing is great. Very fast processing as well as transfers. 6TB is perfect for my editing. Definitely recommend!

Transferred 6TB of files in just a few hours and averaged around 200-350mbps. Reformatted easily to Windows. Worked as expected. Only owned for a couple weeks, so durability is still in question, but the metal housing feels solidly built.

Very good drives, very good company. We actually recommend and use several of the higher end G-Tech products on a daily basis, for storage, backup and production. This model is pretty fast with Macs that have usb-c ports.

I got this drive to work with my photo on a new MacBook Pro with an SSD drive and external monitor. I like having a couple of external drives daisy chained rather than having a single gizmo RAID set up. I just do not need RAID 0. I use it for TIFFs and JPEGs and for this purpose it is blazing fast. Also - I find the stand alone drives easier to partition. G Drive seems to be the best brand available. As some have mentioned this drive is a little noisier than the older generation. I learned that this is due to the use of the 5 year enterprise class hard drives and represents an upgrade.

I did not expect this drive to be so noisy. The noise is low frequency, coming from its vibration. Would not recommend it for iMac Pro users. IMac Pro is silent, this drive spoils it all. I was also surprised to see big ugly power supply, that comes with the drive.

Back to G-Tech after trying these special deals on WD, Seagate and others which do not last and not I dont trust. Consistently a great, reliable external drive for my important copies and materials and all digital files. I wont wander from G-Tech again.
