4.5 stars rounded down. Works splendidly fast and quietly for my needs. I’m on my 2nd copy as I add new ones when I get close to capacity. They’re a steal when they go on sale for $149 and when Adorama matches competitors’ price. The 4.5 stars rounded down is because I received a copy that seemed to work fine but it had a suspicious burnt smell to it upon opening up pkg and I didn’t want to risk problems outside the return window. So I had it exchanged. The replacement came directly from the manufacturer. All works well. Highly recommended.

These drives are junk!

I bought 7 of these drives from Adorama in 2018 to backup various computers and libraries. Within six months one of the connectors between a drive and the cable became intermittent. Fast forward to October, 2019, and three more of these drives have intermittent connectivity at the drive port. Two more of these drives are no longer recognizable by my MacBook Pro. SIX OUT OF SEVEN DRIVES DON'T WORK within 11 - 18 months!!! I called G-technology and their customer service was below useless. DO NOT BUY THESE DRIVES!!!

This is a great small size hard drive that is very portable and is compatible with the G-Drive docking system. The included bumper provides some extra protection when carrying it around. The price is excellent considering the quality and capacity size of the drive.
