Works as good as the costly ones

Works as good if not better, than the more costly competing companies with famous names. The only thing I do not like is you have to use the MH-558 series quick releases, which if you have other Gittos quick release plate are not interchangeable. You have to different quick release heads, then 2 tripods etc.

Great Value

Very reasonable setup for quick switch from landscape to portrait mode. "L" bracket is quite large and looks a little cumbersome but works great at about 1/2 the price of other quick change brackets.

About Giottos MH-680

The VR sliding plate can locate the camera over the panoramic axis of rotation. This L type sliding plate allows the camera to be rotated on both horizontal andvertical axes, so panoramic photo sequences can be easily taken.

The sliding plate is supplied with 1/4" and 3/8" camera screws. Position the camera on the tripod head so it is centered both horizontally and vertically.
