I use this when space is limited and when the legs on the tripod may be in the way. Or when I have to move quickly between shots. Perfect for weddings. For the price, it is a great tool. Sturdy beyond belief. I have no worries mounting my 5D w/battery grip and strobe frame with flash to this baby. The weight capacity is over 30lbs and gives you great piece of mind. Best monopod I have ever owned.

The height is a big advantage for folks over 6'2". No need to stoop over to use the viewfinder. Can double as a walking stick, car jack or push-pole for a john-boat. This thing is strong. Paired mine with a Manfrotto 496 ball head.

I prefer four sections to five, and the trade-off is a monopod that's a little larger when collapsed. I love the extra height and the fact that I don't have to extend all the sections 100% when standing. If extremely small collapsed length is important to you, there are other options. But this one was exactly what I needed and expected.

I use the monopod while shooting High School and youth league sports.
