Perfect for webcam use!

At first I thought I wouldn't be able to close the battery door on my Canon t6i ? until I read there was a little rubber notch cut into the door by the manufacturer! The next thing was to be sure I was using a USB adaptor that was at-least 2 AMPS. I found a 3 AMP adaptor in my collection, and well? this thing is perfect! Great for using the Canon as a webcam.

Simple and effective solution for long time streaming

There is not much to this unit. It's a simple dummy battery cartridge that runs wired to a 5V USB source. That's the only caveat, it won't run off a low power USB. Your laptop won't do. But run it to wall plug USB or something with enough juice and it will run flawlessly as long as you'd like it to. I have one of these for my M50 and one for my RP. Definitely recommended. Some have a power brick on their rigs, this would work great for that, too!

Not enough power to run Canon SL3 as a video camera

Lacks adequate power to use a Canon SL3 as a live streaming video camera. Camera powers down once HDMI cable is attached, no matter how powerful a USB power adapter is used, I tried several high current ones to no avail. Not having to answer the two questions on camera power-up with a real Canon adapter is another reason to pay 2x+ for Canon.
