SHMUEL L : Is QR clamp Arca-Swiss compatible?  If not, is it easy to convert by attaching an additional A/S compatible clamp?
Prashant T : I am having trouble in using the the pan function smoothly. The Pan control knob seems to have not effect. Once i mount the head on my tripod its really difficult to remove it off the tripod. Any suggestions?

Great for scopes!

I recently bought a scope and tripod for birding. The tripod base is fine, but the head was a 3-way photo version and just didn’t work that well for birding. The Gitzo head went on the legs no problem and has made birding so much easier. The damping/locking mechanism is great. I’m using without the arm. The quick release/plate is also really solid.

The G2180 Series 1 Fluid Head is a multi-purpose head suitable for DV, birding, as well as still photography. The body of the G2180 features the innovative Technical Polymer, Soulid 238, created especially by Gitzo.

2 Heads in one
With Handle Bar: Typically for video use. Handle is curved and it is fully adjustable to any angle.
Without Handle Bar: Typically for Bird Watching use with long scopes. Without the handle the head is very compact and it allows a quicker operation and an easier transportation also in the wild.
