Shopper : I'm considering adding this arm to a Gitzo Series 3 GK3580QR tripod for use in a small studio at a design firm. We want to shoot our print and packaging work. Can anyone report on the quality of this lateral arm and will it work with our Series 3 tripod (the product description calls for a "Studex Series 3 tripod", not sure what that is)? Thanks.Paul A : Sorry for my 10 year late answer. I've been using this side arm on my series 3 and larger tripods to :gain a better vantage point in my tabletop sets and for 'birds eye' lay/flat shoots in studio and on location. The geared arm plus geared tripod column, replicate the convenience of a huge studio stand, in a much lighter and more portable package. It's not perfect but certainly good enough.

About Gitzo G535

For StudeX Series 3 tripods. Lateral arms enable cameras to be positioned above or below the tripod apex in positions which might otherwise be obstructed by the tripod legs.
Both Rapid (Sliding) and Geared versions are available. For optimum rigidity, make sure to select a lateral arm with the same diameter as the tripod's outer section.
