About Gitzo GT2542S

The Gitzo Series-2 6x Systematic 4-Section Tripod is a great choice for those looking to travel light, but still get outstanding performance. Systematic tripods are very strong and stable, yet offer excellent flexibility of use.

The Series 2 has a unique modular system that can be quickly transformed into different configurations, in as little as 15 seconds and the same tripod can support both photographic and video equipment. Despite a negligible weight of only 3.8 lb, this tripod can be extended to 51.2" high and handle a DSLR with up to a 300 mm lens, or a medium-sized spotting scope for bird-watching.

The Series 2 has an Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR), G-Lock and brushed matte black finish for improved locking performance and minimized reflectivity. A wide selection of accessories allows you to keep growing your system according to your future needs, whether they are still life, macro, outdoor and sport or wildlife applications.

Gitzo GT2542S Features

  • G-Lock is the Gitzo leg locking system. The locking mechanism has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking
  • Hook: This built-in accessory allows you to hang a stabilizing weight (e.g. a full camera bag or a sand/water bag) from the bottom of the tripod center column. Useful with long, heavy lenses, on uneven ground or in windy conditions
  • Leg ends: All tripods and monopods in Series 1 and above are provided with removable rubber feet. This feature allows you to easily change worn out rubber feet or to fit other accessories, such as spiked feet or snow/sand shoes
  • Anti Leg Rotation: Introduced an Anti Leg Rotation (ALR) system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually
