It's just a tripod
No big thing, it's just a tripod. I was hoping that they engineered a better mouse trap but not true. More than a 1/4 turn and the legs drop off. Which of course is wonderful when shooting at night. Love the plastic shims (Not). Not impressed, just another tripod.

A more ridged mount I can't imagin
I'm in agreement with the other reviewers and can't add many more kudos for this great tripod. I'll give it 4.5 stars rounded to 5.0.
I'm coming from a Benro C2970 carbon tripod with a center column looking for a steadier solution and it looks like this one is a huge improvement in that regard.
I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the carry bag supplied for photography equipment of this caliber, akin to a softer version of the rip stop mailer envelopes.
Another surprise for me was noticing when picking up the tripod to move it a short distance, the legs moved beyond vertical and continued in the opposite direction under the camera mount. This happened while birding with my 7DMKll, 400mm and Induro gimbal in four feet tall grasses as the legs would be snarling in the grasses. Not a good thing but fortunately I had a good hold on the legs and after a few "choice words" under my breath, managed to reset the legs. I'm assuming that all "flat top" tripods with out columns do this. My Benro's legs pivot much tighter and contact the column and prevented any further travel. I checked this by removing the column and it also moves beyond vertical, although not nearly as far as the Gitzo. Also I tried to tighten the pivot screws on the legs but couldn't as I find them already at maximum torque. Other than not being able to snug up the leg pivots, it does function extremely well.

Gitzo GT3532LS Tripod
This tripod works great with my 600mm lens. It is very stable and light weight.
The one thing that is not so great it the cost like all cameras, lens and gear is to high.

Just what I needed
This tripod is a great balance between having a more light weight tripod and providing stability for telephoto lens. At 4 pounds it isn't as light as some tripods, however it is lighter than my old Gitzo which weighs 7 pounds. Also, the GT3532LS is more rigid than my old tripod, which beyond weight was a major motivating factor for my purchase. I took it on a hike and finding a bird of prey, I quickly set it on uneven terrain. It was easier to extend the legs than with my old tripod for sure. And after I placed my gear on my Wimberley Gimbal head and balanced my lens/camera, I noted that, unlike with my older tripod, the whole setup was solid. I can now understand what I've read about the rigidness of a good carbon fiber tripod. I didn't purchase the GT3532S instead, even though I'm 5'5" and have read some opinions about matching height. To me, the views that resonated with me the most argued that having more height provided more flexibility. I'm really happy with this purchase and the lighter weight and solid design allows me more opportunities to take a tripod along rather than only a monopod.

Good for 6' Tall
My first tripod purchase. I won't talk about stability, if you are looking at this tripod you already know what the GT3532LS has to offer. I purchased on the advice of many others. I have no idea if there is just as good of a product at half the cost but I know I won't spend another minute finding out. How much is that worth? I was looking at the taller version but the price drove me to this size. I'm six feet tall and with my ball head and camera body I can stand straight and look through the viewfinder. Aim the camera down and I have to tip toe or lower the body to see through the view finder. I was not concerned about folding small so I opted for the three-section pod, less locks to loosen and bigger minimum leg diameter (compared to the four section equivalent).
