Ultimate tripod search over
Took me a long time to decide on this GT4543LS tripod. Glad I did. Wanted something stable enough for focus stacking and to support a 500mm f4 is. Some would say the 3 series is just fine for 500mm. Beware the twist
You can't beat this bad boy. Sturdy as a truck. Only possible downside is the twist locks.
Systematic is the choice of exacting professional photographers who use long lenses and heavy cameras. Not only are Systematic Gitzo's strongest and most stable tripods, they're also modular, with a top casting element that opens and closes to allow each tripod to be configured with a flat disk, geared or sliding center column, video half-ball adaptor, leveling base or other Systematic accessories. The latest range features Carbon eXact tubes, new ultra-stable feet and the Easy Link attachment, making the Systematic even more stable, versatile and ergonomic.
The Easy Link attachment (3/8" thread) allows the user to attach various accessories such as a Manfrotto arm to use lighting accessories. Series 4 (top leg diameter 37.0mm) is becoming popular thanks to the rigidity from large leg diameters, while the top casting (shared with Series 3 models) is less bulky and therefore easier to store and carry. GT4543LS is the 4 section long model, a size very popular for its balance between closed length and sufficient height even without a column. It replaces the GT4542LS.
Removable feet
This feature allows you to easily change worn out rubber feet or to fit other accessories, such as spiked feet or snow/sand shoes.
Carbon exact
Revolutionary Carbon eXact tubes are even stiffer to maximize rigidity and image stability. Carbon eXact optimizes the fiber composition for each tube size, using HM (High Modulus) carbon fiber in the narrower tubes to make them stiffer. The tube diameters are also optimized: the final leg section of a 4 section Series 1 tripod is now 22.5% thicker than its predecessor.
g-lock ultra
Gitzo G-lock system has been redesigned from the inside out; G-lock Ultra is smoother and softer to use and is designed to reduce dust and grit from getting in.
