It rattles inside which is not good for an audio recording component.

I haven?t used it in a shoot yet but I did work it out with my Sennheiser MKH 416 just to get a feel of how it felt. Without naming my older boom it was night and day. I loved the weight and especially for the price it was so worth it. I?m just sorry it took me this long to buy one. It?s truly worth the price.

The xlr cable is integrated nicely, which saves lots of time on set up and handling. However, the telescoping features leave something to be desired--it can be difficult to twist or pull individual sections of the rod and there can be issues tightening the rod.

The cable broke after used 4 times, now the whole boom pole is pretty much useless :(

What sets the H&A Carbon Fiber 9' XLR Boom Mic Pole apart is its meticulous engineering, designed to elevate the sound recording experience for professionals in ENG (Electronic News Gathering), EFP (Electronic Field Production), and various on-location audio capture scenarios. This premium boom pole extends up to 9 feet, enabling precise microphone placement while remaining inconspicuous and out of the camera's frame.
Crafted from high-grade carbon fiber, this boom pole boasts an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring durability and ease of handling for sound technicians. The lightweight nature of carbon fiber minimizes operator fatigue without compromising on stability, making it an ideal choice for extended recording sessions.
The boom pole features an internal coiled XLR cable, seamlessly integrated to prevent tangling and reduce setup time on set. The cable is equipped with industry-standard Neutrik connectors, renowned for their reliability and secure connection, ensuring a consistent and high-quality audio signal transmission.
A unique triple strain relief system safeguards the internal cable at critical points along the telescoping tube, enhancing the pole's longevity and performance. Despite its lightweight construction, the pole is engineered to maintain a steady microphone position, countering the gravitational pull that can affect the balance when extended to its full length.
The side-exit XLR base allows for a streamlined cable management, further reducing the risk of snags and interference with the operation. While the telescoping feature is designed for convenience, users have noted that adjusting individual sections may require additional finesse to achieve the desired extension and locking.
Included with the H&A Carbon Fiber 9' XLR Boom Mic Pole is a protective carrying case, facilitating safe transport and storage of the boom pole when not in use. This boom pole is a testament to the fusion of advanced materials and thoughtful design, aiming to meet the rigorous demands of professional audio capture in the field.
