Perfect accessory. I wanted something to hold my small video light on my DSLR for detail shots. This allows me to position the light slightly off camera allowing the light to come from an angle, while still holding my camera and not carrying additional stands.

I basically purchased this item for the parts. I needed to extend my Rode mic above my Canon 60D to avoid crowd noise during video recording and I thought this was perfect. Unfortunately, it wasn't long enough. I cut the ends off and attached them to a longer flexible extension. Their extension was well built and the hot shoe adapters worked great - it just wasn't long enough. If Hakuba made the same item in longer lengths it would have been perfect.

It can't hold a Canon 580 EX II and it bends with the weight.
