Upgrade from an inexpensive solar film type filter. Used for simple sunspots and eclipse photos with telephoto lens. Also for long exposure effects in full daylight. Improvements are • Optically flat glass filter • No (orange) color cast for general scenes • The solar film had severe haze in non-solar use Good price/performance value compared to "professional grade" filters at approximately 1/2 to 1/3 the cost.

I have to say that I have been very impressed with this filter, at first glance out of the case you can see that Haida used high-quality glass for their filters. I have not seen any color variations in my photographs at all. I definitely will be buying more filters from Haida.

This is my 2nd filter manufactured by Haida. I also own a 25mm, 10 stop Haida filter. This 62mm 10 stop filter uses high quality glass and screws easily onto my permanent clear UV lens filter. I use on my Olympus 12-40 f/2.8 Pro lens but also use on my 35-100 F/2.8 lens with a step down ring to 58mm. In my opinion, it is much better quality filter overall than other brands I use for video to obtain the shallow DOF during daylight at f/2.8. I emailed Haida directly about which filter to use and a Haida representative emailed be back the next day with recommendations for this filter because of the better color rendition. Great customer service from this manufacturer in China. I recommend Haida filters.
