Makito X4 Video Encoder
Encode pristine-quality video at low latency in quad-HD, and HDR with native SRT for secure and reliable streaming over IP.
Low Latency Encoder for Live Broadcast and Mission-Critical Video
Widely deployed by broadcast, enterprise, and defense customers, the Makito X4 Video Encoder efficiently encodes and streams pristine HD video at ultra-low latency. With a rich set of features available in a compact form-factor, it provides the quality, security, and reliability needed for even the most demanding live video applications.
HD Pristine-Quality Live Video
SDI and ST 2110 Video Inputs
Ultra-Low Latency
Multi-Camera Stream Sync
Intuitive, Browser-Based User Interface
High-Density Video Processing
Pristine-Quality Video
Supporting resolutions up to four simultaneous HD sources, the Makito X4 Encoder is ideally suited for live broadcast contribution and mission-critical video, especially in applications where high picture quality is essential. Encode with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling for remote production and 10-bit pixel depths for high dynamic range (HDR) video, in PQ or HLG, and with wide color gamut (WCG) support for a more vibrant and immersive viewing experience.
Easy-To-Use, Intuitive User Interface
The Makito X4 Encoder features a user-friendly interface that simplifies setup, provides thumbnails for stream monitoring, and real-time statistics. Accessible via a web browser, it allows remote configuration and control of video encoding and streaming. With presets and configurable settings, it ensures a streamlined and efficient operational experience for broadcasters and ISR users alike.
Real-Time Video at Ultra-Low Latency
Where end-to-end latency must be as low as possible, from high quality broadcast productions to bandwidth constrained ISR applications, the Makito X4 can encode and stream your content in real-time. Combining a powerful encoding engine with support for low latency streaming, the Makito X4 Encoder is the ideal solution for when every millisecond matters.
Power and Flexibility for All Destinations
Supporting both HEVC and H.264 codecs with 8 under-the-hood video encoding cores, the Makito X4 provides up to four 3G-SDI inputs or support for ST 2110 with NMOS integration, enabling it to process up to four 1080p HD sources simultaneously. If you need to stream your live content to multiple destinations at varying bitrates, codecs, and resolutions, then the Makito X4 Encoder is the ideal solution.
The Original SRT Video Encoder
The Makito X4 Encoder features native support for the Emmy-winning SRT streaming protocol-Haivision's open-source innovation for secure and reliable transport of live video over IP networks. SRT enables low latency streaming in the face of jitter, bandwidth fluctuations, and packet loss. For valuable or sensitive content, SRT also includes support for AES-128/256 encryption.
Multi-camera Remote Production
Keep all your encoded video streams in sync, even when transporting live feeds across IP networks such as the Internet. The Makito X4 Encoder embeds timestamps into outgoing streams which are used by the Makito X4 Decoder to ensure frame synchronization before outputting to SDI. The Stream Sync feature supports multi-camera remote production over IP networks, providing a cost-effective approach that can reduce the need for on-site resources.
Compact and High Channel Density
Available as either an appliance or blade with up to 4 HD inputs, the Makito X4's ultra-portable design perfectly suits field deployment through a small form-factor and power efficiency. When used in conjunction with Haivision's rack-mountable MB21 Chassis, it offers the highest 4K channel density available, providing up to 84 HD channels in a single 4RU rack module-ideal for high-density video applications in space constrained environments.
