I did not see any difference when comparing regular earbud mic. I am looking for a more intelligent mic that can reduce the noise and improve the audio.

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a musician, videographer, "influencer," or any of the like; I got this to use as both a conference room microphone for Zoom meetings and as a desktop microphone in my office for video meetings when not needed in there. It was deal of the day when I got it, but even when it's not, this is the lowest price around. It's literally plug and play with no power cord needed, just a USB cable. For what I need -- omnidirectional polar pattern for the conference room and cardioid for my desktop (and for folks as ignorant as I was, that basically means the microphone pulls in sound from any direction for conference room and only from the front on a desktop) -- it's great. I can now comfortably scoot away from my desk or even go get something from a bookshelf 10 feet away and I'm still audible, and for conference room meetings, everyone's voice around the table is picked up easily without everyone having to lean in and talk loudly like they did with a speakerphone. So no idea if it's "good enough" for serious audiophiles but it's great for those things.

I bought this microphone to easily just plug in and record song ideas. This mic does the trick. Sounds great, and looks amazing. It's built very well and has options most others do not. It's a great buy and highly recommend it.

This is the 3rd time I've purchased this, each time when it was on the deal of the day. For the price I don't know if there's another mic that can beat either the versatility or the quality, let alone both. The first purchase was for the mic to use as a conference room microphone, and basically live in the 'omni-directional' mode. The pickup is great, and even at a considerable distance. The audio is clear when on the receiving end of the meeting. The second purchase was for my personal computer, where the microphone is ether in cardioid or super cardioid mode. Again, great pickup quality at all reasonable distances from my computer, and performs well even when the mic is placed off to the side of where I'm facing and talking. This sounds better than the more expensive Blue Yeti I tried for a while before returning. Having been so impressed the first two times, I bought a third for my work station computer. It would only be for the few times I am on personal meetings, and having better quality audio than what my webcam offers for this price is very appealing. I highly recommend, especially when this mic is on sale.

As a videographer I have a need for crisp sound capture and the H&A UMP-5 is an excellent USB microphone, true plug-n-play and the sound capture has been superb! I was skeptical at first that the microphone would deliver what I needed, and it boasted but I could not resist taking a chance on it at the price of just under $100US and I am glad I did. Exceptional smooth gain without distortion and it has outperformed previous units I have used that were twice the cost. I definitely recommend this microphone without hesitation. It has exceeded my expectations.
