The Edison Robots are compatible with Lego, opening up a world of endless building possibilities. The Lego-compatible plates along Edison's face can be used with either Legos or the included Edison Expansion Construction Kit. This allows the robots to be transformed into sophisticated creations or combined for a more complex system.

Each Edison Robot is equipped with a host of sensors and can be programmed using a variety of FREE software applications. From EdBlocks, a graphical robot programming language, to EdScratch, a hybrid graphic robot programming software, and EdPy, a Python programming language, there's a platform suitable for every age and skill level.

The robots interact with the world via infra-red (IR) transmitters and receivers, line tracking, barcode reading, and sound detection. They're also equipped with two motors with variable speeds, left and right red LED lights, and three control buttons. Communication between robots is possible over IR, and they can be programmed by and controlled with TV and DVD remotes.

The Edison Robots are powered by a set of AAA batteries and are designed to be clean, safe, reusable, expandable, and robust. They offer students of all grade levels, from ages 5 and up, a chance to experiment, grow their knowledge, explore their imagination, and have fun.

The robots come with a variety of sensors, including left and right infrared obstacle detection, light sensors, a clap detector, and a line tracking sensor. They can flash LED lights, play sounds and music, and even receive messages and control commands from another Edison robot.
