Received one for the class room. It does light up and that's about the extent of it. Junk!

Disappointed

Thought I was purchasing the perfect device for my 95 year old mother who has macular degeneration since it seemed to be, from the photos, easy to operate. The package I received was very light in weight and that's when I began to have doubts. My doubts were justified. The body of the device was very cheaply made, the buttons on the top of the thing were almost impossible for her to work as there was no definition between the individual buttons that indicated forward or backward etc. Granted my mother is elderly and has very limited sight but she is not demented or ignorant. I helped her try to feel where the buttons were that she had to work and we gave it the "old college try" but when the device developed a high pitched scream after a week as it played a cd and then ultimately stopped working - that was when I decided to send this review in so that others who might be thinking of purchasing one - WON'T.

Easy to Use & Durable

I purchased this CD player so I could take music along in my travels to see my young grandson. The sound quality is good, it is straight forward to load the CDs and play the CDs.

The Hamilton Buhl HACX-205 Top-Loading Portable Classroom CD Player with USB and MP3 provides a great way to deliver clear audio sound to small groups. It's perfect for the classroom and ideal for giving music lessons. The top-loading CD player supports audio CDs, as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs. Plus, there's a built-in USB port that allows you to play MP3 files loaded onto USB Flash drives.

The stylish design features a backlit LCD track display, a 3 W amplifier and an integrated speaker. There is one 1/8" stereo audio output and one 1/4" stereo audio output. Both can be used for connecting headphones and/or jackboxes. For added durability and convenience, the HACX-205 has CD anti-skip technology and digital push-button volume controls. Plus, it can be powered by the included 6 V wall power adapter or by four C batteries, which aren't included.
