From the trusted brand of Mike Alert comes the Bi-Color Tally Light Controller, a powerful tool designed to simplify the installation of Yellowtec's "Mika" microphone arms. This innovative device allows you to seamlessly connect the integrated dual-color Red/White tally lights of your microphone arms to your console, enhancing your broadcasting experience.
The Mike Alert Bi-Color Tally Light Controller is an interface device specifically engineered to control the dual-color tally indicators on popular microphone arms. It offers the flexibility to independently control the tally lights of two microphone arms, providing both power and control circuitry to operate the white and red tally indicators in each arm.
Equipped with automatic polarity control, the Mike Alert unit delivers 12 volts DC to operate the tally lights, allowing you to select either the white or red light. This versatile device can be interfaced with virtually any broadcast console, router, or device that provides for tally light control.
The unit features two isolated inputs, "Red" and "White", for each microphone arm. The Red light is typically used to indicate 'On The Air', while the White light is used to signify 'Ready' or a secondary status. Notably, the Red input will always take precedence, ensuring that only the Red tally light will operate if both inputs are active.
The microphone arm cable is connected to the Mike Alert via a 5-pin XLR connector, with 3 pins used for microphone audio and 2 pins used for the tally LED lighting. The microphone audio is passed through to a standard 3-pin male XLR for connection to an audio console. Control inputs are facilitated via a 15-pin D-sub connector, which can accept any GPI contact closure, open collector, or any maintained DC voltage from 5 to 12 VDC.
The Mike Alert Bi-Color Tally Light Controller can be integrated with a Henry Engineering Superelay for control of the studio's main 'On The Air' warning lights. Activating any microphone arm Red and/or White tally circuit can also turn on the main 'On The Air' warning lights.
Designed with convenience in mind, the Mike Alert is 1/3 rack width and can be mounted in an optional rack shelf, or wall-mounted using optional wall/cabinet mounting brackets. The unit is powered with an internal AC power supply, which can be user-set for either 115 or 230 VAC mains. This makes the Mike Alert Bi-Color Tally Light Controller an indispensable tool for any professional broadcasting setup.
