So many reviews on receivers lack details about sound characteristics. I have owned my HK 3700 for about six months ; so I know it is broken in. I play the receiver in to Tannoy 613 towers that I have owned for 20 years. These are 6 ohm power hungry soeakers. The receiver fills up a 20 x 15 ft room with cathedral ceilings quite nicely. The HK 3700 has a very warm sound with low distortion. This receiver can be played at high volume for an extended period without hurting my ears. The sound stage is good when listening to compact disc; obviously better with records. While the distortion level is low the sound could be cleaner. My only complaint is that the sounds could be cleaner. But the trade off with warmth is worth it especially for the price.

I bought the HK 3700 stereo receiver not long ago but I don't know why the remote won't turn the power off to it. It won't turn it on or off could you please let me know why I'm having this problem? Thanks

This is a superb amplifier, goes extremely load with no distortion paired with my kef Q350 bookshelf speakers. I like the USB port from which I'm able to play music from my apple device and the built in DAC is pretty good. My only complaint is that the DAC does not seem to support gapless playback. Overall great value for money with features found only in higher priced amps.

I was looking for a stereo only receiver for my bedroom. I am very pleased with the over all performance of the 3700. I'm in a fringe area for most FM stations and use a outside 4 element beam. The reception beats my larger multi channel receiver hands down with dead quiet signals. The sound from my Polk bookshelf speakers and subwoofer are very pleasing. I bought it while it was on sale, so it was a really good buy

Purchased this for my Turntable. Sounds Fantastic!! Just wanted nice stereo sound and this most definitely does the trick! Plenty of Power for a small to medium sized room. Built in Phono amp works perfectly!

I purchased a Harman Kardon amp in early 1969. It lost a channel in late 2016, which prompted this purchase. Excellent unit then and now.

I got this for Christmas to replace an old 70's receiver. Surprisingly good sound. Pushes my 120 watt speakers with ease. Love having a remote and the display an extra bonus.

Aside from the fact that the "Speaker 2" (aka A/B) did not work out of the box (Fry's was cool about the return, even with a lost receipt)....I was disappointed in the cheap quality and feel of the controls; the "iOS compatibility" feature only works through USB cable, not wirelessly; and beware of the power output: model 3700 advertises 170 watts, but it is 85 watts/channnel, whereas the 3770 advertises only 120 watts but it is 120 watts/channel (i.e., more powerful, despite the inconsistent labeling). I could have lived with the lower power and simply added a bluetooth adapter, assuming both A/B channels worked....but I decided not to replace it with a working HK 3700 or 3770 because the quality was so poor. I expected better from Harman Kardon.

I just received my amplifier/receiver. I love the quality of the sound. I also like that I was able to directly connect a turntable (without a separate pre-amp box.

Had an older HK receiver, glad I bought Harmon Karden again. Easy hook-up, runs (2 sets of speakers and sounds great!

I bought the HK 3700 to go with my HK 2.1 speaker system. The sound is excellent. This is audio only and does not support HDMI connection. The HDMI connections are made from the Cable box, DVD Player, etc. to the TV. Audio cables are used to connect the TV to the HK 3700. It's a bit of a headache for those of us who are electronically challenged. But, once the system is set up, all is well with the world.

The first unit sent to me died within a week. Harmon Kardons' exchange policy worked as advertised, and they quickly sent me another. The sound is great, the amplifier was able to drive a pair of Kenwood MV-7's (550W speakers) without any decernable frequency loss. While some consider the lack of a balance control a downside, I have always been a stickler for good speaker placement.
