Works great with my old turntable

I purchase my receiver in 2014, and it still works great.

Simply the most musical sounding receivers ever!

Nirvana! When matched with high resolution speakers that are capable of producing an accurate and detailed sound stage. I've been a fan of H.K since the 70s., i am so pleased that Hk has managed to maintain the accurate and pleasing musicality that separates HK from other manufacturers. The H.K sound is 100% listener fatigue free with the right speakers. Bravo! HK !

Great system

I was concerned about this receiver since it was made in China. I purchased the HK 3770 in 2014 and no issues at all! I'm very happy with this receiver. It's connected to an old HK T45C turntable, Infinity 112 speakers and it sounds great.Purchased the item direct from HK. The representative answered all my questions...he was vanastic.

Older 3490 and even 3480/3485 are 10x better

Don’t waste your money on this stereo amplifier. It’s bandwidth is terrible. It’s power is quirky and it weighs less that 15ibs. Don’t waste your time with this. I don’t know what harman kardon was thinking. Harman kardon is feeding off inexperienced/newer stereo people who don’t know good from bad. Stay away from this.

For the Discriminating Ear.

I have been a loyal customer of Harman Kardon since the 1970's. HK ampifiers simply sound the best. They do not "offend" or "fatigue" the ears like other solid state amplifiers. I would like to see them offer a more powerful version. Guy C.

Everything was nice until today..

I’ve had this since 2015 and just today I was listening to some records and it just switched off 3 times and the third time I noticed a lot of smoke coming out and burning smell of plastic. I wonder if this is a common problem. I have no idea what to do next.

Just Awesome

I've had HK products for years. Bought my first one more years ago than I care to think. I have 2 HK receivers: HK3770 and HK3490. NO problems whatsoever over the years. The sound is simply fantastic. Awesome bass (no distortion) and crisp highs. Great receivers at a great price.

Very good stereo receiver

I'm using receiver for a year for music, home media, gaming. It is a good choice for those, who do not plan to build home-cinema and 2.0 or 2.1 is enough. I'm using receiver with lots of sources (bluetooth, opt, online radio) with a pair of Sony SS-176E and it sounds really good! The only thing I don't like is a remote control, it is unfriendly.

Old school analog - digital compatability

Back in the day I owned an HK 640. Outstanding warm audio, square wave design. Now I have it again with the 240 watt HK3770, plus the Harman Volume feature for DVD audio in stereo. Thx.

Great amp!

I bought one a yr or so ago for the living room, connected to a pair of Cornwall’s. Sounds awesome. Had to have another for my workshop. Very nice sounding receiver and plenty of power!

My second Harmon Kardon reciever

I used my first HK until it was used up. This one has more power, more headroom and more features. I love it.

HK 3770 is the Bomb!

Just set this up, super easy; remote is a little hard to figure at first but is solid. The sound this thing reproduces is clean, rich, good lows, solid mids. My setup is 2x JBL Studio L890 towers and JBL Studio Sub 250P. It can push some some serious power and the Harman Sound button is a nice feature.

Been a HK fan since my AVR 80 ages ago... BUT

Bought my HK 3770 about 2,5 years ago, the first was DOA. Went back to the shop kinda angry and got a new without any problems. The second worked fine until last night, tried to turn it on, got the message "your device is switched off" then it shuts down blinking orange. Tried turn it on 3 times then a little "puff" and some smoke followed by the foul smell of a burned capacitor. Looks like they have some quality issue, i thought an amplifier from a company like this was suppose to last longer, don't know if it has something to do with the "made in china" stamp in the back. It worked fine those 2,5 years, but this was really disappointing. Now my house is quiet and i can't afford a new right now so.. where did i put my books again, i know they are here somewhere..

Meh

While this receiver has plenty of inputs and power, I am underwhelmed by the range of adjustment on the bass and treble controls. I also expected a mid-range control but no dice. The lettering on the front panel is too small and the remote takes some time to learn. I have not used any networking features as of yet: not sure if I ever will. I expected more from HK. I used my HK385i analog receiver for about 30 years until recently when one or more electrolytic capacitors failed in the power supply. I am contemplating refurbishing it. It just sounds better. It's warmer with a wide range of tone control AND it has a Loudness button. Newer doesn't mean better.

Best value !!!

I purchased the receiver a few months ago and wanted to share my pleasure with it. I am using it to drive a pair of PSB Synchrony II bookshelf speakers with a load of 4 ohms. The receiver drives these speakers with ease and sounds terrific. I have downsized from a much larger system ( due to a move to a retirement home ) and have no regrets whatsoever. All and all, this receiver is an outright best buy .

Everything I was looking for.

Box came smashed in from shipping company but thanks to the packaging it was undamaged, thank goodness! This thing is bomb! The sub out was a must have for my reciever. Bluetooth connects perfect with my Note 8, also a must have. Ample power, great product! Missing smart home connectivity.

Good Receiver with Inputs and Powerful Clean Sound

Harmon Kardon was always regarded as one of the very good receivers to have in the 70's-80's. I'm really glad I bought this. Great dynamic sound and punch. The user interface on the front panel lacks, but it's easy to get used to the remote when your over 50!

Great Receiver with a Quirky Remote

I have had HK amplifiers/AVRs since the 70's. As happy with the Factory Refurbished HK3770 as I was with the others. Great sound with lots of features and plenty of power at a great price. Nice compact size to fit in tighter spaces. I hope this lasts as long as my other HKs. Due to the different types of source selector buttons on the remote and the way they are allocated to the inputs, getting the different inputs programmed on my Harmony 650 remote was a little tricky and sometimes takes two button pushes to select a desired input. Maybe I will figure it out eventually. Also did not get an Owner's Manual, just a quick start guide with the receiver but I found the Owner's Manual on-line.

HK the best bang for the buck

I Just got my HK 3770. I love everything about it. This receiver provides the way music is meant to be heard. I'm charmed! I rarely give recommendations.

No loudness button.

I had an older model Harmon Kardon that had the loudness button feature. This newer HK3770 does not have it. Instead, it has some other feature. Not as impressed with the prayer.

Great receiver; crummy app

Just got the HK-3770 last week. Internet tuner is amazing. Bluetooth range is limited if you don't have line of sight. The app isn't any better than the IR remote because it lacks a display. It allows for full control but you are "flying blind" if you are not right in front of the receiver. These are often installed in closets so the app needs to mirror the display on the receiver. Get back to work HK!

AWESOME

Bought this receiver a few weeks ago & installed it today. Wow, it sounds awesome & looks sweet! Mainly purchased to use with my Dual CS 5000 Turntable, Shure M97xE Cartridge & 2 Klipsch R-24F Speakers. Crisp, clear, warm & powerful sound, pushing these speakers excellently. Super happy with this purchase & definitely recommend.

Good affordable high current amplifier!

Excellent receiver! The only thing I consider important that need to be said is that you need to get the update from harman pardon european site version V000.17 it comes with V000.16 and it adds Balance controls in the tone control button of the remote controller It is in th download section at then end, unzip the file and you will find a pdf with all the instructions to install this very important upgrade http://eu.harmankardon.com/harman-kardon-product-support-detail-eu/hk-3770.html

Class A/B amplifier? check!

This beast has 40 amps of current to provide to speakers and I tested this with 6 ohm speakers it is 50 % efficient which is typically for a class A/B the previous model it was a wonder of 310 w with 77% efficiency, guess Harman is learning to do proper SMPS, good clean sound in evry in, including the coveted optical coaxial digital inputs for lossless audio, high quality performance

the HK 3770 runs hotter than HK 3490

i have had both HK 3770 (120watt per channel) and HK 3490 (120watt per channel) the HK 3770 runs hotter than HK 3490 at -45dB , -40dB and -35dB volume level (at same volume) ( this will make it LESS Durable ) ----------------------------------------------------------- ( HK 3770 ) more Heat = LESS Durable also the HK 3770 uses to much remote control i miss some of the source buttons on the HK 3770 (on the front) , like the HK 3490 had ---------------------------------------------------------- HK 3770 and HK 3490 sound the same on analog audio inputs , but sound Different on digital audio inputs
