I have both from my purchase. Same cable material on both the balanced and my quarter inch. I went on a headphone journey, but these are one of two HIFIMAN headphones I own, ant the only 2 with this termination at the cans. Good sound, not built to last.

Great sound, poor build. Dead after a year. Should have known from seeing complaints of something falling apart on them.

Great sounding headphones.

Great sounding and comfortable to wear. Not crazy about the cable, but need a longer one anyway, so Zynsonix to the rescue.

Immensely wide Sound Stage

If you're looking for for ultra-realistic and an easy to listen headphones, these are it. I've had chance to compare these to comparable Audeze and I find the sound more accurate and easier to listen too. If you get these, or any Planar Magnetic headphones, you will need a dedicated amp to get the most from these. Just plugging them into your phone won't do them justice. There are plenty of under $ options out there that will bring out the full potential of the HE-560 v3. As for the build quality, every appears well built and feels made to last. The V3 is also much more comfortable than prior generations, the Leather band is now longer, allowing for bigger heads like mine to wear them for longer listening periods.

omg sound so great

i'm not big fan of listening to music but this headphone made me want to listen music again. if you trying to use this headphone without any item that has 6.5 mm port you should buy get converter

good deal

I have few headphones for different situations. This is My first planar headphone. Hifiman he560 V3 needs a good quality headphone amp. I tried with under $ headphone amp, the sound was thin , larking mid range and bass. I tried with Samsung galaxy 8+, the sound was bad when the battery was less than 80%. I do have Yulong DA8II headphone amp , the quality of sound was very good. Clean , deep, and smooth. The inner headband measures 8.75" and it had no issues fitting a large size head.

My best headphones to date

These headphones sound great. My previous go to was my JBL Chrome which sounded far better than the price tag would suggest. The HiFiMan, which should be no shocker considering the price difference, is far better. To anyone who may not be aware, this product is power hungry. Don't expect to use it with your phone or pc (in fact you can't without an adapter or new cables). You will need a headphone amp to run them. I've tried them using my Peachtree integrated stereo and they sound amazing. I've tried them from my ipad and they sound horribly under powered. Also they are open headphones so do not expect to use these in public as they will be heard by everyone. My only complaint would be that it does not come with a case to store it in and it doesn't come with cables for smaller inputs. I suspect both of these issues are because they want you using them only at home and through a receiver. That is fine, but if you own a portable headphone amp then you will need to get a new cable or an adapter.
