Shopper : Will this eyecup fit my Nikon D500 ?GREG L : Yes, it will fit. I don’t like it and took it off my D500 after two weeks. It’s very large and interferes with the tilt up screen. I have a Nikon D810 and this eyepiece worked nicely for my camera, but I do not own a D 7100 so I cannot say for sure. However, with that said the product description stated that it's for Nikon DSLR camera bodies with a round eyepiece, so if the D7100 has a round eye piece, I would assume it would fit as I would also assume that those camera body components would be the same size. BUT...the buyer should check with Hoodman.LINDA T : I have a d810 not sure about the d7100LEROY S : I dont know I have it on my D800 LeroySkip B : Nikon cameras have either a round eyepiece or a rectangular eyepiece. This one will fir the round eyepiece. I do not own a D7100 so I'm not sure which one it has. To be sure, visit the Hoodman website. There you can fins the exact one for your camera..ANTHONY T : Not sure about the D7100, I have thee hoodman for the D700 and D800 both with the round screw type fiting. I find them very helpful since I shoot macro and wear eyeglasses. They allow me to eliminate all ambient light as I focus. It is the thread of the eyepiece that is the issue, If it is round, I would say you are in great shape.

You can look on their website to see if Hoodeye makes one for the it. Answer: It probably will because it fits well on my D7000 which has a very similar body. Once you install it, it is very difficult to remove. So be certain you want the add-on to begin with. Glasses/without glasses

I ordered this product for my backup camera, the Nikon D500. I already use it on my Nikon D850. It really reduces the eye strain from light leak when looking through the viewfinder . Can't live without it... (I really could, but why suffer ;-) )

Feels good over glasses but lack of coating and vertical shooting not as comfortable

The rubber has a nice feel to it and was easy to install. When shooting in portrait orientation, it is comfortable and fits over my glasses. When shooting in portrait orientation, I'm finding that it is not as comfortable and there is usually not time to readjust the eye-piece. There also seems to be much more reflection from bright objects in the frame then I have seen in previous models or the standard eye piece. Moreover, the unwanted reflections seem to be the biggest negative to eyecup.

Best accessory ever for eyeglasses wearers

Would highly recommend this accessory for anyone who has to wear eyeglasses while photographing. The extra large eye cup blocks extraneous light giving a much better look through the viewfinder. Have used one for some time on another camera & can't imagine photographing without one.

Hoodman Eyecup for glasses needs work

The Hoodman Eyecup for Glasses is a great idea, that just needs a little more work. I ordered the eyecup to replace the worn out eyecup I bought for my D3S 2 years ago. The Hoodman is supposed to snuggly fit around glasses and provide comfort while looking through the viewfinder. The Hoodman was fairly difficult to install as the threads on the eyepiece did not want to start properly. It took several tries to git it on right. The eyepiece does provide pretty decent light block out when using the viewfinder, but not total block. There is pretty significant light leak, and the Hoodman does not fit well around my glasses, which are pretty standard. Only time will tell whether I get use to the eyepiece, but initial reaction is that it is a great idea that needs a little work. At this point, I probably would not recommend the eyepiece to a fellow photographer. There are others on the market that would work just as well, and be cheaper.
