But it doesn't. Often it will not work. Then It needs to be reconnected. Wouldn't scan off the HP Smart program at all. Very disappointed!

I had everything up and running. I had added the printer to the app. I did all the set up steps in the app. It was printing. Then I tried to print a few days later and it didn't work. It said set up with the HP app and account was incomplete. Somehow, this meant I couldn't print. I bought a printer, not an online subscription to print, so that shouldn't happen. I read all the FAQs, watched videos on the app, and there was no way to finish set up (whatever it was that was left to do). Keep in mind, this is not setting up or calibrating the printer, it was linking it to the online account that had made it stop printing. It trapped me in an endless loop, so I couldn't finish set up. Eventually, I had to remove the printer from my HP account (which wasn't easy), factory reset the printer, and this time it let me finish set up. Ridiculous.

Excellent printer, holds a lot of paper and prints smooth. I do miss the auto paper tray on my old 7640. Easy to setup. Scanner also works great. Have been using the HP print plan. Do not have to go looking for ink. It is sent to you before you need it.

The printer I purchased was so difficult to set up I had to hire an IT professional to do it. It took him two hours and cost me more than the printer itself.

The quality of this printer is very poor; the paper storage compartment is tiny. I received it and was never able to get it to work despite technical support and all the troubleshooting steps. I've always had HP printers, and this has been the worst. It seems that the newer printers have lost quality and durability compared to the older ones. I hope HP improves this, otherwise they'll lose a lot of customers.

I had the printer only two weeks before it needed a firmware update. It constantly went through a cycle of failed updates for days, and I had to talk to three different "support users", spend hours going through their "troubleshooting", all for nothing to work. I'm submitting a request for a refund and not using an HP product again. I shouldn't have this much trouble for a simple firmware update, especially on a brand-new printer, and it definitely shouldn't be this difficult to find good customer support.

Halleluiah! FINALLY you produced a SIMPLE working machine. This is my 3rd HP printer(Note: I sent back three weeks ago a monster HP ''snazzy'' printer that was a nightmare-purchased online. Total BUST.) This machine is proving to be a workhorse. You've restored my faith in HP. Purchased at Best Buy with a salesman who knew what he was doing. Your online ''chat'' clerk was nice but grossly inefficient OR I got a Lemon. This printer is PERFECT although I wasted 3 weeks waiting for this one since I had to return the LEMON. .

The wrong printer (wrong model) was delivered. I had to spend a long time with their associate in order to have the wrong printer returned. The printer was received by their warehouse early this month but I'm still waiting for the refund. I called today to follow up on the refund. Their associate confirmed the receipt of the printer and that a refund was never processed. He told me he will request a refund and that I would get an email confirmation in 24/48 hours. An extremely unpleasant experience.

Dj A.

2026-02-21T19:00:00
Inferior product. Very difficult to install (20 mins with tech support on phone). Would never happen with Apple product which are plug-and-play. Very difficult to get live agent on tech support line (need to jump through several good like name, email, phone, describe problem). As usual, the AI interface does not understand your commands. HP's efforts to automated everything and save money just result in second-rate product

So far it has not been as reliable as my old 8600 printer. It loses its WIFI connection too easily and then intermittently emits an alarm about the lost connection which cannot be permanently disabled which is quite annoying. Was unable to activate the free 1 year of instant ink without making it tied to the printer forever which is misleading advertising.

This printer is from the dark ages. It is a nightmare to use and should not have even been sold since it is out of date and difficult to use. I have tried to contact HP to return it under the 30-day contract and they avoid talking to me until the 30 days runs out. This has been a very stressful, difficult experience and I could have been sold a printer that actually meets my printing needs instead of this ridiculous printer. You have to go into a separate screen and create a printer tray to print envelopes and then you have to delete the printer tray before you can print regular copies again. Nothing is automatic. This is some kind of design flaw intended to frustrate customers.

A little difficult to pair it to my HP computer and my home internet, but after several attempts it worked. The printer works very well once it is paired with the wireless connection, but it wasn't seamless. Nevertheless, it a very good and responsive device.

This particular model is great for the price. The caveat to it being excellent is the tiny screen, the screen touch sensitivity, and the menu layout. Not that it's terrible, but it takes some getting accustomed to. Otherwise, the setup is relatively simple, just be sure to step through the instructions. Our hp9010 print-head wore itself out in less than five years under light duty and the scanner feed stopped functioning. Our hope is that the 8135 will be more durable. So far-good.

This is the second all-in-one from HP. I like them alot. This one has to do maintenance just as I am trying to print. It just takes longer to print, but it prints well!

Happy Printing TIme!
By M L.
This is my 2nd HP Printer. I just had tor retire my first printer (about 12 years old!) and even though it still worked, it did not have the interface/mechanics (?) to work with new modem and new HP computer I just purchased for WIndows 11. This one is very nice --sleek design, fits on my printing cart, printing is clear and crisp and really nice professional output on all my printing jobs. I am grateful for those attributes as they are important to my small home business. However, the older ...
