I have purchased a few different brands over the years and this is a top quality filter. The 16 layer multi coating minimizes flare. Crystal clear and perfect for my new Nikon 35mm Lens and D850 Camera.

I spend a lot of money on quality lenses. I want the same high quality in front of these lenses.

I gave this 5 because the Company made it right. And they did it fast. However I used ROR cleaner on it and it stripped the coating off. They sent a bottle of Giotto with the new filter. I do not know how this happened, so be careful. The filter is far better than I thought it would be

I use this as a way of not having to replace front elements on my lenses. This was bought as a replacement for the same filter which managed to get punctured while in my camera bag. The multi coating reduced glare to near nothing. I did not get "cleaning marks" on the filter. My broken filter had incredibly thick glass in it.

I love the thin mounting ring with eight layers of coatings on each side. It has a wonderful way of fitting on the lens, you can feel the excellent quality compared to cheaper filters. I would put heliopan on all my glass if they weren't so expensive. I bought this one used so it was more affordable.

Photo enthusiast but not a pro. Replaced a damaged, but poorly constructed filter.

For those of us that use filters for front element protection and improved image quality, Heliopan is the best you can get. Heliopan is the only filter manufacturer that only uses glass from Schott (Zeiss). The 16 layers of multi-coating transmit over 99.5% of the light to the image plane, giving you the lowest flare and greatest color saturation. The top layer on each side of the SH-PMC coated filter repels dust and moisture to help keep the filters clean. They also use only brass rings, which allow for easy installation and removal in different temperatures you may encounter in the field, unlike the less expensive aluminum or alloy rings used by lesser quality manufacturers. The old adages of "you are only as strong as the weakest link," and "you get what you pay for" applies here. After spending a lot of your hard earned cash on that lens - why would you want to degrade the image quality by using a cheap filter? It DOES make a difference. The only other filter manufacturer I would use or recommend is B&W - similar quality German optics. Don't settle for second best - you may only get one chance at that shot!

If you plan on leaving your UV filter on the lens then get this non-aluminum mount (Heliopan standard) so it does not bind to your aluminum filter threads on your lens. The many-layered MC really does cut down on reflections and makes for relatively easy cleaning. Spend a little more for good glass in front of your expensive lens.

Well, its kind of expensive but you don't want to put some junk on 70-200 2.8 VR Nikkor lens. Since I already pay that much on the lens, why not get an excellent quality UV filter?

I have this filter attached to a B+W 72-77mm step-up ring, attached to a Nikkor 18-200VR, attached to a Nikon D300. I'm very pleased with it overall. The ring mount, all in brass, is superb, the glass is as clear as can be, and so far as I can see the multicoating is very scratch-resistant, easy to clean, and does wonders in minimizing the effects of lens flare (ghosting). I really couldn't be more satisfied with it.
