Very nice filter, doesn't affect image quality at all. I recently learned repairing scratches on the front element is very pricey, better to just pay less for a quality filter to protect the glass.

I needed this filter to protect the front of my Leica R E60 lens. Perfect, no matter that there is little choice in this filter size. This is it.

It'a a good filter at a good price but it came without a case or container of any kind. Came by itself in a plastic bag. It definetly needed the case it came in.

UV filters are something many photographers don't pay too much attention to, but should. Filters introduce another 2 glass surfaces to deal with. The thing I like about Heliopan filters is the high quality optical glass they use in their filters. I can be assured that I am minimizing the impact of adding another piece of glass into the lens equation. The build quality is excellent too. The brass ring is well made, and not super thin like you often find with cheap filters.

Predictable flare control moving in and out of direct light. I used to shoot important events with no filter as I always felt it compromised optimum clarity that makes or breaks experiences for high paying clients. Not true for this product. Crystal clear optics and great for shooting in bright midday light for large events that you cannot always control your subjects.

A great savings on this filter, nearly 50% less than new and in perfect condition for use on HQ lenses.

Heliopan filters are simply the best you can get. Rather than repeating the virtues listed in the company's advertising, I'll just say that I periodically try other brands, which are invariably less expensive, but aside from Singh-Ray specialty items, I'm just never happy with anything else when I compare it to a Heliopan. The mounts are slimmer than B+W's F-Pro mounts, and work great even on ultrawides; they are solid; they are machined perfectly; they have a nice, matte finish that is easy to grip for putting them on and taking them off; they stay put, and the glass always fits tightly. The glass itself is of such high quality that you don't have to worry that you are sacrificing anything even when you put a filter on a Leica lens. I go overboard, putting Heliopans on everything (Leica, Nikon, and even Lensbaby lenses), but even where the quality of the glass is overkill, the slim, elegant mounts make them worthwhile.
