Looks just like photos. Adapter rings are a little difficult to screw into lens after they have been secured in the filter holder, but maybe this is just a learning curve thing. A nice thing is that the filter slots can be adjusted for tightness, to keep the filter(s) secure. Main advantage of the filter holder is that a single square or rectangular filter can be used on multiple lens sizes, with the range of adapter rings that are available.

By reducing the dynamic range in a sunrise or sunset photo, adjusting for printing has become easy because all of the details (that are usually blown out) are there in the raw file. No need to reduce exposure on the "hot" area or to increase exposure (and noise) in an underexposed area.

Worked perfectly during the eclipse! Filter was off in half a second for shooting the corona, then instantly back on for the latter half of the event. Could have never done it as quickly with a screw on filter. The only thing I would change is I'd make the ring out of brass like my good filters. Aluminum rings expand and contract too much and can be more difficult to put on and remove. Since the ring stayed on the whole time--only the square portion was removed with its thumb screw--this wasn't an issue for me.

85mm Aluminum Holder
Formatt-Hitech holder systems feature rugged aluminum backplates with modular stages that hold up to three filters, plus an optional adapter ring for using a circular polarizer. The holder mounts to the adapter with a thumbscrew, meaning it attaches securely but can be attached or removed gently, without disturbing the lens.
Threaded Adapter for 85mm Aluminum Holder
This adapter ring used to fit the 85mm holder to different thread diameters of your individual lenses. Formatt-Hitech adapter rings are milled from the highest quality aluminum in the UK.
