Hoya 55mm Spectral Cross Glass Filter for Portraits

This filter is made by sandwiching a black gauze-like fiber between two pieces of colorless, optical glass in a rotating frame, therefore creating softfocus and with a cross effect.

The overall soft-focus is ideal for portraits outdoors with direct lighting or with backlighting.

Point light sources at night heightens the cross effect.

This effect is somewhat softer than with regular cross screen filters and the diffraction light produces a slight amount of desired flare.
