Shopper : Will this fit my Canon Rebel T5 ?ROBERT N : Check the lens specifications for cameras having interchangeable lenses. Every lens specifies the tread size for compatible filters. Order the Hoya UV filter with that thread size. My lens specified 58 mm.WILLIAM B : I am assuming that you purchased the Rebel T5 as a kit with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. This lens has a 58mm filter mount so this is the correct filter. However, check the numbers printed on your lens, and if they differ from the values above, go to the canonUSA website and look at the specifications for the lens that you have. Different lenses have different diameters, so this is important.

I bought this for my 50mm F/1.4 which is an FX lens that can be used on a DX.BARRY B : Hi Pavan, I bought a Hoya 58mm UV SMC filter for my Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens a couple of years ago. It is a very good filter to use for protecting the lens. However, it does not screw onto most Nikon lenses. The kit lenses (18-55mm and the 55-200mm) take the 52mm size filter. While other lenses like the kit lens for the D7000, the 18-105mm lens, take a 67mm size filter. Nikon has other size lenses also. To find out the size filters you need for your lens, look on the lens you want to protect, it will tell you the size filter it takes. On the Nikon lenses I checked, I found the filter size in the writing on the bottom side of the lens when the lens is mounted on the camera. On my lenses it was the last number in the long row of information about the lens. I hope this helps. Barry

Good, but hard to clean

I used to use it as camcorder lens protector. But now gave it to a friend. Main complaint is that when stain is attached to the lens, it is hard to remove it. Don't know why

High quality filter for dSLR.

I have this filter on my Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens, which is my main walk-around lens. The lens is excellent and there is no distortion whatsoever with the Hoya UV filter.
