A must have

A CPL is one filter you really must have. Aside from being a protector for your lens, it is valuable in giving you the ability to cut glare from water and glass images. It also will drop 1-2 f-stops, good for outdoor work. This filter is thin and has no vignetting, threads on easily. I wouldn't work without it.

A must have.

Just like a UV filter, everyone who photographs outdoors should have a polarizer. They do cost more, but the effects it produces are so much better. What it does for the photo cannot be done in post processing. Plus you get neutral density darkening for those overly bright pictures or if you need blurring.

Good Balance of Cost and Value

The quality of this filter compared with more expensive filters I have purchased producing photos that were as good if not better

Excellent Glass

I purchased this product to use on my Nikon 70-300 VR lens that I am using in Baghdad. The filter is necessary here due to the bright sunlight that I have to deal with. I am using it when photographing wildlife and Palaces here in Baghdad and I love it.

Cir Polarizer

A very good low cost basic Cir Polarizer. Work well but the threads stick a bit during the first 5 t0 10 attachments.

Hoya Circular Polarizer Filter

Testing this filter for sharpness and distortion using a 1951 Air Force bar chart, I discerned zero image degradation. Oh, it also works just fine for its primary intended purpose - glare reduction and resultant color enhancement.

Get Full Color

Allows you to get vibrant fall colors in bright sun light. It also reduces glare from the water in the creeks making them look deep. A GREAT filter to have in your collection.

Excellent Choice

I bought the Hoya polarizer on the good word of other folk's reviews, and I have to say it was a strong decision. Having used cheaper models, particularly the one on my 18-55 Nikkor lens that came with my D40 I can feel and see the difference. No loose mounting, a nice tight feel when adjustments are made, and no tendency to over- or under-emphasize colours. What an excellent product for the price.

Good filter, poor storage container

The filter is good but Hoya needs to provide a better container. Being an old man, I'm familiar with the round, two-part holders that securely close to protect the filter when not in use. The square one wastes space and does not close securely making it hazardous to be in a camera bag.

Completely satisfied with the filter

Have always used polarizer filters before with film cameras. Have had many successful images from them. Hope to have many more with my new digital camera.

Excellent Lens Filter, [...]

I haven't used the polarizer alot yet, but it is well built, easy to mount, either directly on the lens or on my UV filter, and easy to use.

About Hoya 67mm Circular Polarizer Filter

Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens.
• They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc.
• They also saturate colors and increase contrast.
•Polarizers come in two variations but have the same effect. Linear polarizers work with older camera meters; Circurlar polarizers are designed for today's newer split-beam metering systems used in auto focus cameras. Check your camera's manual.

Hoya 67mm Circular Polarizer Filter Features

  • Creates dramatic sky/cloud contrast.
  • Saturates colors without changing color balance.
  • Mount rotates to control amount of effect.
