Works well with my 300mm zoom. I am able to get great close-ups at a nice distance. A good quality and inexpensive way to achieve macro.

These are quality lenses that do a decent job of decreasing the minimum focusing distance of your camera. They do show a bit of fringing at the corners, especially when stacked, but are fine for most photo hobbyists. Pros & serious amateurs will likely want a dedicated macro lens for optimal image quality, but this set is a good affordable alternative for the rest of us.

Hoya filters are some of the best glass regardless of price . I purchased this set to get into close up photography without breaking the bank , and I am not disappointed with my choice of Hoya . I could not find one flaw in any of the filters and if I ever did , I know Adorama would stand behind everything it sells .

These filters are basically like putting a magnifying glass on the front of your lens. I tested them with my Fujifilm 16-80 which can already get very close to subjects. These allowed me to have the subjects fill the frame. I can't wait to test them out with insects! One con that I have found is that you have to be careful of chromatic aberration with these filters.

Excellent resolution, exceptionally low distortion and chromatic aberration. Stacking to achieve additional magnification works well. Particularly impressed by the performance with the large lens diameter (77 mm).

These filters are perfect, the glass is dense and they work great. The case that comes with them is a great accessory, and it has one extra slot. I’ve used other brands and nothing compares to Hoya. FYI, I ordered the wrong size and customer service was great!

I only used the +4 diopter so far. Added it to my Tamron 16-300mm macro zoom.

Use the +1 and +2 diopters (+4 is difficult unless on a tripod). They screwed on and off easily and performed well when I looked at the photos later.

I'm only using the filters on my wide angle lens. The results are better than expected, it does create a blurry edges due to the bulbous optics which you may or may not like. See attached photots. Mahalo. *It does shorten the focus distance somewhat.

Items works great and is exactly as described. This is a wonderful solution if you’re looking to save a few hundred or thousand dollars on a macro lens for your camera system. Edges on images are a little fuzzy but this is perfect for wedding or hobbyist photographers.

These filters worked well and appeared to have better image quality as compared to uncoated closeup filters.

I shoot outdoors frequently. Living in the Sierra, conditions can be difficult: Rain, snow, wind, blowing dust. I use a protective lens and camera cover if I am expecting such conditions, and if I encounter adverse conditions the last thing I want to do is remove the lens in order to either mount a macro lens or attach an extension tube. These close-up lenses get the job done when conditions are harsh. They can be stacked to give you a range from +1 to +7, although with multiple lenses there is a small diminution in critical sharpness. These lenses are not as good as a dedicated (high quality) macro lens or quality prime lens with an extension tube, but they are as good or better than some less expensive macro lenses including primes/zooms that claim "macro" capability. They definitely fall into the "acceptably sharp" category. For people who do not do a lot of macro shooting (or for those with fixed lens cameras) they represent a cost effective to a dedicated zoom lens, and more convenience with less environmental exposure than extension tubes. This lens set comes in a convenient and sturdy pouch that holds the 3 close-up lenses plus a slot for one more filter. I have a circular polarizer in the extra slot, thus giving me a quick "grab and go" kit for bad weather photography.

These filters work very well, and are much less expensive than macro lenses. I'm considering getting the 10X one as well.

I have purchased the cheap versions in the past... there is zero point. These are WELL worth the price difference.

The Hoya Close-Up filter set is a great set. Comes with nice protective filter pouch. They are Aluminum, do not tighten, only snug, then back off 1.4 turn, they will bind if you are not careful. Brass would be better.

Take your photography to the next level with the 72mm HMC Close-Up Filter Set II. This set includes +1, +2, and +4 diopter filters, specifically designed to enhance close-up photography. The shallow depth-of-field provided by these filters allows for a unique focus on your subject, opening up a new world of creative possibilities.
The filters are equipped with Hoya Multi Coating (HMC), a renowned feature for its ability to significantly reduce reflection at the filter surfaces. This minimizes flare and ghosting, resulting in an average light transmission of over 97%. The outcome is sharp contrast and well-balanced color in your images, making these filters an essential tool for any photographer.
Whether you're shooting with a Fujifilm 16-80 or another camera system, these filters can help your subjects fill the frame, providing a cost-effective alternative to investing in a macro lens. However, it's important to note that careful handling is required to avoid chromatic aberration.
Ideal for both professional wedding photographers and hobbyists alike, the 72mm HMC Close-Up Filter Set II is a versatile addition to your photography equipment, enabling you to capture stunning close-up shots with precision and clarity.
