The Y40 boasts an expansive vertical graphics architecture, an upgrade from the Y60 model. It includes a luxury PCIE 4.0 riser that supports the latest high-performance graphics cards. The color-matched canopy, first introduced with the Y60, adds a touch of elegance to the design.

As graphics cards continue to evolve, becoming larger and more power-hungry, the Y40 adapts by expanding GPU support to 4 full slots. This provides additional airflow space between the edge of the card and the glass, enhancing the cooling process. An intake fan located beneath the power supply shroud injects fresh air upwards to the GPU, further improving cooling efficiency.

Unlike typical vertical graphics orientations, the Y40 supports up to 6 half-height expansion cards behind the primary graphics card. This allows for the inclusion of capture cards, PCIE SSDs, sound cards, and more, provided they are available in half-height form factor.

The Y40 assembly process is straightforward, especially for those familiar with building in an ATX case with a PSU shroud. The widened cable management view port on the top of the case aids in plugging in your CPU 8 pin power or fan headers. The front glass, secured with screws, can be easily removed during assembly.

The Y40 also excels in thermal performance, with a similar airflow layout to the Y60. Optimal airflow for air-cooled GPUs is achieved with side intake, top and rear exhaust, and bottom intake. For liquid-cooled GPU and CPU setups, the side fans' airflow direction has less thermal impact compared to an air-cooled GPU.
