great little follow focus. easy to set stops. just wish i bought the tilta cage-- it works with other cages but has a special screw that seems like it integrates very well with it.

Works as it should , Used it so far on 3 video shoots to pull focus. For the price excellent choice . Using on Blackmagic Ursa with Rokinon cinema lens. Seems well built.

I was deciding between this follow focus or the new one from SmallRig. I went with the Tilta Mini due to their years of experience over SmallRig. I am pleased with the design and it is very well built. It gives smooth pulls and is easy to set up. My favorite part is that it can be setup either on the right side or left side AND not only that but it can be adjusted to be either on the left side or right side of the actual gear. This just gives you more options to get the most comfort setup for your rig. One thing I will point out is that if you do not have the Tilta cage for your camera I do not think you can mount it using the included rail. I have a SmallRig cage and couldn?t figure out how to use the included rail mount with my cage.

Pretty good follow focus for the price. I don't even use the hard stops a lot of the time. Took off 1 star because the gear seems to slip sometimes even with the tilta seamless focus rings.

Great little tool for manual focus control, whether it be for a small dslr or a RED hand held rig, this is a perfect little unit to add to your system. It only needs 1 rod and it's affordable too! Adjustable and solid construction, works even without a lens zip tie ring depending on the camera!

Works smoothly for the price. You can find cheaper, but this one is worth it knowing it feels pretty solid and is designed well. The design is compact and very adaptable to fit different lenses. The hinge midway makes this very easy to position (the rail connector can be flipped if you need it to). I would recommend using cine lenses, or purchasing dedicated follow focus rings for your lens because the modular one that is included, while it works decently for different lenses, overhangs and may catch or rub on parts of the cage, monitor, camera body, etc. All-in-all, definitely love using this rather than not having it.

High quality and easy to use. The grip is sturdy and turns with ease without being loose. It’s small size keeps my rig light when going handheld. Comes with small 15mm rod for easy attachment. Best of all, it just looks cool.

This is the first follow focus purchased, that I actually enjoy using. It's compact, easy to use and the price is very fair. Build quality is also high standard and I recommend this purchase to any level creator. Now I feel more comfortable racking focus and filming manually in general.

Bought this as I was setting up my first shoulder rig for a music video. Attaches easily to the rails and is easily reversed to work on either side of the camera. The hard stops made racking focus so simple and accurate. Some people complain about the hard stop screws being in the way while not in use. This has not been a concern for me.

This is a great little follow focus. Fits perfect for small cameras and lenses. The one drawback is the locking pins don't allow for a full focus throw. But overall I love the build quality, the feel, the weight, and the look.

Everything I hoped it would be. Small and compact, but smooth. Multiple ways to mount, I use the regular 15mm rail mount and it’s so much easier to swap lenses than my old cheap follow focus. Hard stops and spare focus gear are nice and you can’t beat Tilta’s included case!

build quality pretty good, wish the mechanism was reversible so you can use it on different lenses and keep the same focus orientation. the a - b thing just moves the position of the gear which is helpful , but not the rotation of the mechanism. there is a built in resistance which is smooth but when paired with manual lenses is too resistant; i think it was designed with still lenses in mind that have little resistance. would be nice to adjust that too. there is a little collar next to the main 15mm rod collar that protrudes asymmetrically - would like to cut it off.

One of the best budget follow focus I have ever owned and i have owned many. Idk what the last reviewer was talking about but this FF is very well constructed & it don't slip or have any play. I was going to buy another for my other rig but still trying to hunt down a sale or used sell. Thanks!!!!!

Gears constantly slipped, especially bad the faster you pulled focus. But it would even happen with a slow pull. Used with an SLR Magic Cine Microprime lens, which has a geared focus ring - so it isn't an issue with a gear ring on a non-cinema lens. Repositioned the following focus many times, tightened it up as much as possible against the lens gears, but always slipped. It doesn't help that the wing nut that allows you to tilt the follow focus away from and up against the lens is blocked and can only turn about 45 degrees. Upon inspection, the teeth on the follow focus do not seem deep enough. Compared to the included gear ring, the teeth on the ring were much deeper and fit like a perfect match with the gears on my lens. Unsure if a fluke or if a design flaw. But I returned it. Will get a different brand. Also, the adjustable hard stops - while nice for non-cinema lenses - cannot be removed. The problem with that is that with my SLR Magic lens, you cannot use this with the entire range of throw. That is to say, even with the hard stops adjusted as close as possible, you still cannot go from minimum focus to infinity because you'll hit the stops on the follow focus. So you'd need to decide whether you sacrifice on the near end or the far end with this, since you can't remove the hard stops. THAT is a design flaw.
