An actually "mini" matte box. Other smaller matte boxes look kind of ridiculous on small mirrorless cameras. This one fits just right. It can fit a screw on filter, plus a cine filter, which is enough for 90% of my purposes. I can even use a 3rd filter if I go EF lenses on mirrorless with a drop in adapter.

It comes with a lot of useful accessories as other reviews have mentioned. It is a little on the small side. It will not make your DSLR looks significantly bigger. Well-built. Only drawback is the 15 mm rail mount. I needed to order a longer extension than 4 inches in order to connect to my camera rig.

Little Beast!

LOVE this simple lightweight matte box- great build quality look and feel- get add’l lens size adapters for just 7$. Used on my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K really put a nice wrap on the rig. Highly recommended.

Great High Quality Inexpensive Mattebox

Compact and light weight. Perfectly blocks light (which can be a problem with the Helios 44-2) and reduces flair. And added bonus is that it looks professional and as we all know, looks can be very important when trying to make a good impression for clients.

Budget friendly yet high quality.

I can't think of a better matte box for the price. If you're looking for a cost effective way to hold your more expensive filters in front of your lens, you can't go wrong.

One thing to note: if you're using threaded filters with the lens mount adapter, you'll have a much easier time if you attach the filter to the adapter while it's off the lens.

Nothing in this price point compares.

very good overall, wish the 15mm collar mount was shallower; it’s set so the rails have to be 2-3 inches below the lens, and i can’t use it on a camera where i have the rails close (about 1”) form the lens
slight rubber texture is great
the tightening knob on the side could be bigger / star shaped or flat, so it can be used with gloves. an allen hole here would be good too

the threads inside the adapter that goes in front of the lens between the matte box are too far recessed and are hard to access. i’m considering getting a bunch of cheep i’ve filters, stacking them and breaking the glass so it will love the threads further out

the screws that mount the flag mechanism are too small ; would like to take it off more easily to better access the 1/4 20 on top of the matte box. also the graphic on the flag is ugly and i would like a way to turn it around, but can’t bc the screws are too small and are stuck / lock tight in there

Nice little mattebox, however, if you own Polar Pro Variable NDs that go on the lens ring they will not fit. I originally intended to use this only as a shade accessory for my lenses and use the lens filters that go on the lenses but didnt work.
