These cables for the Nucleus-M give you run/stop capabilities in camera systems that support it. Simply plug the 7-pin end of the cable into one of the motors and the other end into the R/S port of the camera.Note: This cable was specifically designed for the Nucleus-M so the R/S function only works with the Nucleus-M's own hand unit and hand grips.

So far I've yet to find any issues, everything just works. There are even features that were nice surprises, such as vibrating whenever you go over marks, and just the build quality in general, I know Tilta make quality products, but what you get for the price is fantastic. My only quibbles - I wish the FIZ unit had more mounting points, you can buy a rosette adapter but it's somewhat limiting in terms of what you can do with it. You will most likely put everything into a separate dedicated case, but the one that is included is pretty good and could have been much more practical if they for example made extra space for said rosette adapters and other bits and pieces. Final quibble, batteries are not included, yet they provide a charger and space for batteries. I imagine it's due to shipping restrictions, but just be aware of that when you order, they're fairly inexpensive, but most of them are made by unfamiliar brands, so it can be hard to know which to trust. PS get batteries with button tops, otherwise you risk losing power due to loose power connections. I mentioned more negatives than positives, but honestly for someone used to budget follow focus kits, this just does everything I expected, and more, plus there's compatibility with the Nucleus-Nano which is a nice bonus! Handles are fantastic too, even just as dumb handles.

Great package overall!

I bought the Nucleus M and was very excited to use it, but realized I needed to purchase batteries separately. I purchased the batteries that were recommended, which are actually the wrong size. The battery door doesn't close with the Nitecore NL1823 18650 batteries. Now I have to search for other batteries that will fit.

I have only used it a few times but so far, it ticks all the boxes!!

It is nicely built, ergonomically well designed and has pretty simple menus and such.

As I read in some other reviews, the controller bugs out if it gets too close to the motors, but a quick restart sorts them out.

Also, make sure to check out the Tilta website to see exactly which batteries they recommend. They use a rather odd flavour and, apparently, not all manufacturers versions work.

Amazing quality for the money. Don't expect a  five thousand dollar wireless follow focus because you need to compare apples to apples. I have not had one single issue yet.

Tilta Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus System

For the price, this system is pretty fantastic. It can do a ton for a very reasonable pricetag. The sticking points are the ease of use, sensitivity, and signal reliability. Once you're familiar with the control layout, you can change a lot of settings, but not very quickly, and there are limited options, especially for sensitivity settings. The controllers can set each motor based on "percentages," but those percentages are only 30%, 50%, and 70%. So basically sensitivity level 1, 2, and 3. When using a T2 lens wide open, 30% sensitivity doesn't really cut it when it comes to nailing focus reliably, especially on a long cinema zoom. There are also some problems when using the wireless follow focus and the hand grips in conjunction. There seems to be a signal overlap which causes the motors to jump randomly, or not respond to commands. Overall, it is a fantastic system for the price. Just know that the system's shortcomings will make very demanding shots more challenging.

Great Product

This is an incredibly versatile system for the money. The antennas are definitely a structural weak point, though. During my  initial inspection one of the motor antennas snapped off effortlessly. The hollow brass screw that attaches the antenna to the motor seems to be very delicate. The motor still works just fine, just something to note. The other motor did not have this issue at all, so I think it may be a crapshoot on QC when it comes to small connection points like a tiny brass screw.

Flimsy Antenna

This is my favorite Follow Focus ever, one thing to know is the batteries, they almost  don't fit the device had to almost brake it to stick the batteries I ordered the ones in the link at Adorama, dont buy those use the red ones research online, that was the only problem but the product itself is great !!!

Excellent!

The motors are strong, fast, light and super quiet, although maybe a little bulky. The LED screens on the motors are bit small and can be hard to read when mounted.  Every component of this kit is solid and well made. The software on the controller is easy to use allowing you to set and remove marks quickly, and map the range of motion of the controller to the motors however you please. The case is incredible and every component is organized and fit nicely in it. The price is unbelievable for what you get.  Other manufacturers better take note because this thing is going to take over the market.
